I don’t know that I see HVL staying. She regressed this year basically because she had to learn a new position and it didn’t work out.

I think Reese should leave. All the hate she gets she prob wants to move on. I think HVL returns. If she doesn’t she got bad advice

There are more eyes on the college game than WNBA

Because of 1 player that’s about to play her last game

If Reese comes back, she needs to dedicate herself to basketball and lighten up a bit on the influencer gig and her "brand."

I hope she is capable of that.

HVL with another off season and probably more off the ball with more ball handling options.

Will also be able to play her natural position.

If Angel Reese stays her brand continues to grow versus opting for the WNBA where she may not shine as bright. The backlash she has faced has taken a toll more than we knew and she may not want to deal with that again. On the other hand she is a fierce competitor and I feel like she wouldn’t want her last moments of NCAA play be perceived as critics getting the best of her ie the loss and the post game conference. Hope she stays.

So yall want her to come back strictly because she’d allegedly make more money yet you don’t want her to focus on her brand

Not even close. Literally no one gives a frick about the WNBA. Might change in the future but that’s where it stands right now. The only impact I see CC having is now Indiana Fever games will be sold out and get some extra tv time.

It won’t be NIL, it’ll be endorsements. Both girls have contracts with national brands. So obviously the Gordon McKernan deals won’t follow but the Reebok & Addidas deals can.

Aliyah Boston echoed a similar sentiment recently with people assuming going to the WNBA equals a paycut from NIL.

That's not the only factor, they also don't have to worry about class or grades anymore and can focus on other ventures. Dawn Staley was a college HC in the WNBA offseason while she was still playing, Boston does broadcasting for NBC in the offseason.

The one thing that is true though is that womens college hoops gets more viewership so if visibility is important to them then college has that advantage.

The viewership for college basketball dwarfs the wnba. Been that way for a long time

HVL did not play up to her standard

I keep hearing that HVL was a better shooter at Louisville, but according to SportsReference, her shooting was comparable. She actually slightly improved her 3 point shooting over her last year at Louisville, though her 2point shooting slightly decreased. Given that, I don’t expect to see a difference if she returns.

Love how everyone keeps saying nil in college > Wnba. They can still make nil money in wnba. Everyone acts like they know angel and hvl personally. No one knows their situations

It is said because it is true. The following of any major university is far greater than any WNBA team. Where there is a larger audience, there is more money. This isn’t difficult to figure out. Go look at a list of all the giant endorsements made to WNBA players and then look at NIL money being earned by women collegiate basketball players. The girls can easily make more money for less work in college until some sort of team cap or limit to individual earnings is put into place. Nobody outside of women’s basketball gives a shite about the LA Spark. A lot of of male non basketball fans will watch LSU women’s basketball. Companies know this and put their money where the eyes are.

Do the women have the same option to enter the draft, get an eval, and withdraw by certain future date? The men can withdrawn as late as 5/29.

I noticed when HVL said that in the post game presser, but even if we face Iowa again, it won't be the same without Clark.

Where are they both with degrees? Female athletes usually actually give a shite about academics.

The problem is that in college, Reese and HVL are names people know and they get lots of airtime due to being on LSU.

In the WNBA, they will not get the individual recognition, unless they dominate the league, and beyond that the viewership will not be as great. I think I saw 12 million watched the Iowa game this year.

Reebok isn't paying you to wear there shoes...they are paying so you wear them when 12 million people are watching you. I don't think 12 million are watching the WNBA, but maybe I'm wrong.
