Don't think we are in a decline. I think we lost because we were not mentally prepared. While I like Les Miles, there is something to be said for a Nick Saban approach that rarely leads to this kind of mental lapse.

Heard this in 2008 and look what happened in 09-13. We aren't in decline and the season isn't over. Stop waiting for stuff to go wrong and just enjoy the CFB season.

Good lord. If left to people like you, Curley Hallman would still be on the sideline because "hey, he's the coach and if you don't blindly drink his ball sweat you are not a real fan."

Reality of the decline

It isn't as dramatic a decline that we saw at USC after Carroll left or what happened at Florida between Spurrier and Meyer.

That said, it is not realistic to consider ourselves yearly NC contenders. Hell at this point I don't think we should even expect to yearly contend for an SEC West Division title.

This is what we have with Miles. Win about 80% of our games, but never quite enough to make us truly relevant.

And in the coming years with the playoff, Miles will do just enough to make sure we consistently finish as the 5th team in the 4 team playoff.

2 years ago, the team went undefeated against arguably the toughest schedule in the modern era of college football but we're on decline?

You could be right, but hard to tell with 13 jr's leaving for the NFL

The season is not over. Wake up call to be sure. We can re-focus and beat Bama. This weekend proved that anyone in the SEC can beat anyone. Never know how things will turn out.

Maybe they knew something? Many weren't drafted and still left.

I'm not reading eight pages but I will ask this - so you have an inferior program if you are not a NC or SEC title contender every year or any year you aren't a contender that is a bad year. The Buffalo Bills lost four Super Bowls and were branded "losers" by many for that. I detest "all or nothing" thinking.

And what do we have to show for that season? Nothing. We can't even take solace in the SEC championship because we basically lost that on 1/9 as well.

The we lost 3 games the next year, and will likely finish with 3 or 4 this year.

I'm not an athletic director, and I'm uninterested in having the job.

Well said. Our expectations are high to be sure, but it seems like for some, anything less than a NC each year is no good.

I am very disappointed with this loss! But, I agree that all or nothing thinking is not accurate thinking.

Coon- Miles cannot even claim being awesome in 2007. He is the reason we lost two games we had in the win column. UK could not stop Scott- but Miles did. 4th & 19 on casey dick-LSU stops that and we're 12-1 into the NCG. There is no awesome when it comes to Miles.

Seriously, pick another team. You're the worst one.

We didn't go undefeated. We lost in the championship game that was a redo for Bama. Where was Alleva and Les standing up for LSU not having to have a redo, since we beat the gumps in their stadium. They were too busy being "honored" to play Bama again and Les voted them #2, screwing over Oklahoma State that had played a much tougher schedule that year and had their lone loss to Iowas State the day of a school tragedy. You know what I heard from many LSU fans. Well, you shouldn't lose to Iowa State and expect to be in an NC game. Well, you shouldn't lose to a decimated Ole Miss team. PERIOD.

I bet you can't come up with 15 tenures of a coach at a single school that are better than Les at LSU.

Stupid, stupid post. So goddamn stupid.
