He had 6 punts, but did you actually look at the spot of the punt and possible yardage before spouting that crap about him needing to more consistent? His average was 41.3 yards, which isn't terrible considering he shanked one and punted from the 50 twice.

#1 - from LSU 20 - net 30 yards
#2 - from LSU 31 - net 62 yards with fumble (caught at the Ore 7)
#3 - from LSU 48 - net 31 yards
#4 - from LSU 50 - net 27 yards
#5 - from LSU 35 - net 57 yards
#6 - from LSU 19 - net 45 yards

If you take away the 2 from midfield, which are basically a pooch punt, then his average was 46 yards, and that's including the shank.
He had 2 that he put inside the 20 and 2 right outside the 20.

There has already been an 81 yard punt this season.

why do you excuse him from pooch punting? that is just as important as regular punting. when we are at the 50 we need to be doing better than giving it to them at their own 20. might as well fricking boom it without the risk of a return. we were awesome at pooching last year

again, 3 shitty punts, 2 awesome punts. 1 good punt. deal with it.

I don't think a starter can be a secret weapon, Doesn't a secret weapon have to be a secret?

Notice I said net. Those 2 pooch punts were returned to the 21 and 23, respectively.

I know pooch punting is important. I did not excuse him from that. You stated:

half of them went for 35 yards or less. like i said, more consistent

So, when punting at midfield, he would have to have it inside the 15 to be over 35 yards. And last year, you had someone who was a senior. Do you remember the last time we had a good pooch punter? It was back in the Saban days.

Considering this is his first game, and he is a freshman, he will only get better. Plus, he was punting indoors and had to deal with a huge screen above his head. If you noticed, he punted with the right and the left, with his left appearing much stronger (his shank was with his right). He has high punts, but couldn't do that Saturday because of the screen, which will affect his ability to place it like he wants.
