Thanks, i remember listing to those plays on the radio. The OleMiss/Manning vs. LSU game one was of the great SEC games, in spite of the loss. A few breaks and LSU would have had another NC.

The background music is GREAT!

It reminds of the background music in "Number One".

Thanks for sharing. I was at the Miss State game in 1969 with my Dad. We were sitting in the South End Upper Deck.

That's awesome. I was two days old when we beat Alabama that year. That game has always been on or around my birthday. Growing up in the 70s, my paw-paw was inexplicably a huge Bear/Bama fan and he would always come to our house on Sunday morning after our loss to them and say the same thing: "How bout dat Bear!" Needless to say, I never liked him much.

Why did some teams in the SEC play 5, 6 or 7 conference games that year? It's very odd. Was that the year we turned down the bowl bid because the Cotton or someone picked Notre Dame over us?

LSU - ole miss in '69 was my first LSU game.

Sister was a student at the time. Got in on a student ticket, I was 13. Heard the ticket taker yelling at me as went went through the gate. Sister said don't look back.

Once in our seats the first thing I heard was "GO TO HELL ole miss GO TO HELL"

damn you archie manning.
