If LSU were to beat Bama in 2 weeks, what will LSU's ranking be considering all other teams remain in their current spots? Would LSU move ahead of Bama, still be ranked behind Bama? Would LSU move past other 2 or 1 loss teams? This is interesting given the LSU's 2 loses are essentially from a different team.

LSU would move to 10th or so, Bama would stay in the top 5 of the AP and coaches. The committee would probably be about the same.

That's just how the world works.

We would have to break the top ten. As for bama they would likely drop to 6 or 7 so they could very well still be ranked ahead of us after a head to head victory...

ETA: but who gives a shite the rankings don't matter right now

LSU 11, I don't think we get in the top 10. Alabama will fall to about 5 and the sad part is if we win out and Auburn loses a game I guarantee Alabama will still get in the playoffs over us.

Top 10 still behind them, no way they put a 2 lose LSU team in front of bama just no way. Bama would still probably be top 3 even with that lose. Sad but true... Even if we would somehow destroy them they wouldn't put us in front bc of how far behind we are. Les really screwed us this year. Man we are such a great team if they could hold their emotions in check and play with more awareness this team would be unbeatable. GT

Bama will drop 2 spots, because sports media will all be talking about how good they looked despite losing, and that, if they hadn't turned the ball over twice deep in their own territory, they probably would've won.

The justification will be that Bama has the best "quality loss" of any team in the top 10. Definitely still playoff-worthy.

LSU goes on to win the West and SECC. However, media is p!ssed, so they put Bama in 4 team playoff. We play Bama before getting a shot at Mich or Clemson.

I think our saving grace with the committee (if we win out) is Florida being ranked so high. If we go in that game and destroy them its going to be hard for them to keep us out of the playoff.

So what you are saying is that the committee would take a non-SEC champion over the SEC champion....I'm not saying you're wrong but I definitely think that would kick up the winds of change for selection criteria.

Don't get me wrong I would be absolutely thrilled if we would make the playoffs after how this season played out. Then again I would be so freaking pissed that we would have to play Alabama again in the playoffs. That would be brutal yet if that would happen and we would win again no doubt that would erase everything about how the 11' season ended!
