Problem with this list is that this season will factor in so much more than previous seasons. Such that Miles will be lower than he should be and Mullen will be higher than he should be. Also, are we talking about just a gameday coach or a program manager in general (recruiting, results, etc)?
Here is my list of coaches based on their overall program management+results on field (which obviously is a fluid ranking that can change often):
1. Saban
2. Malzahn
3. Miles
4. Spurrier (#2 historically)
5. Richt
6-7. Sumlin or Mullen (any order)
8. Freeze
9. Bielema
10. Pinkel
11-12. Jones or Stoops (any order)
13-14. Muschamp and Mason (any order)
Giving Miles credit for LSU's success over the past 10 years is like giving Joe Alleva credit for the athletic department being successful...kinda responsible but not really.

The only one on that list that is clearly better is Saban. Proof is in the accomplishments and no one else in the SEC has done more. Besides Saban, of coarse.

So Miles, is not responsible for his program 10 years since he took over?
Is there any precedence for this with any other program?
I have honestly never heard anyone say that a coach 10 years after taking over a program is still not responsible for his success.
Please answer.

I know it sounds crazy to you guys...but wins and losses don't tell the whole story.
If florida doesn't drop that ball in the end zone Baton rouge would have their pitch forks out again today.

Coaches aren't hired and fired based off "looks". They are hired and fired based off wins.

Good list. Spurrier a bit lower at this point in his career
Thanks bro! Yea, it was tough putting him that low, but he is 3-3.

Yeah and the good coaches have longer leashes. It's no coincidence that even though he's been extremely successful the first loss is followed by the entire state calling for his job. If he didn't have a 17 million dollar buyout he'd be fired this year if he goes 6-6...which is a good possibility.
This town, the TAF, the board of supervisors, and the blind man on the corner of plank and airline have been waiting for this guy to screw up because we all know he's ridiculous.

So just checking Memphis, since you incessantly troll anything Miles on this board. Exactly why is Spurrier #2? His team got blown out by an A&m team that's been blown out twice. Bert is still winless in SEC play. Mullen has had 1 good season and he's having it when LSU and Bama are down. Sumlin hasn't won a thing yet and has been blown out just as much as Lsu has this year. Pinkel and Mizzou just got blown out to a Gurley-less UGA. Richt has disappointed UGA fans yearly. But please, continue to prove your opinion as complete BS because of your hatred for Miles.

Ranking Miles #1 is
but ranking Miles any lower than 5th is
To put that into words, it would take a retard to say Les Miles is not a great coach. If you think there are 3 coaches currently in the SEC who have had more success in the last 5 or so years then you would need to analyze his success and accept that youre delusional.

Legit question. What has sumlin done to garner any respect?

Man did any of you watch the game on Saturday night or did you just watch the score?

You seem to be taking the win on Saturday pretty hard man. It's ok, LSU will lose again at some point just like every other team.

Haha...no I was excited about the win. However, we may be at the point where losses will be better for this program in the long run (as silly as that sounds). I remember during Dinardo's last year thinking the same thing. Of course, it could have gotten worse but it didn't...it began the greatest run in LSU football history.
It's time for a change bro and you know it. It's funny it took all of two losses for my pro Miles buddies to jump ship again....just like they've done before.
I jumped ship when dumbass tried to call timeout to stop the clock after Laron Landry intercepted the Tennessee quarterback in '05.
