I'm sure there's been dozens, but hits that led to other game winning hits are really hard to remember.

I don’t know about a hit but the toss from Tre Morgan to home in that CWS game against Wake Forest was about as heads up as it gets.

2023 CWS Game 3

Top of Second Down 2-0.

Runners on First and Third. Jordan Thompson RBI single to left side of the field.

I believe Thompson was like 1 for his previous 30. When Langford sent that 2 run shot in the first inning my heart sank. I believe this hit by Thompson gave the team a lot of momentum and broke the flood gates open.

Matty Ott was great those final 3 innings. That 12th he had 2Ks and Ground out to third.

Brad Wilson double down the line so he is standing on base when Morris goes yard.

That's four pretty good ones. I'll throw in a few more:

1997 - Larson's HR against Rice which gave us the lead. That ball still hasn't landed.

2000 - elimination game against Florida State. The game is tight late, but I can't remember the score and Cresse lines a double off the left center field wall. I think it gave us the lead. We win and advance to play Stanford.

2017 - opening CWS game against Florida State. We're down 4-3 in the 8th. Cole Freeman is on 1st. Duplantis hits a single to right field and the FSU defense turns into the keystone cops. Freeman scores. Deichmann then singles to score Duplantis for a 5-4 lead. Zach Hess comes in from the bullpen and does the nasty on FSU.

I'll never forget Jim Hawthorn yelling "Warren Morris hits a three run home run" at the end of the game.

I would mention Barbier’s solo HR earlier that inning along with this one. We hadn’t scored since the 2nd before that and it was the first hit Wayne allowed since entering in the 5th.

He did not.

If you listen to his calls in the end, in fact, he said it’s a two out two run Home run very clearly as did Bill . if you’re talking about when he was screaming, he said two run homer but I can see why people think he said three run homer because he’s screaming into the microphone.
Either way, you can’t say that he said that as it is nearly impossible to make out his screaming.
That was the most emotional call in the history of LSU sports. You freaking people probably weren’t born when it happened.

Try loving a team and witnessing that live. I did and still can’t belive what I saw that day.

Agreed. People keep writing that claim on this forum, but no can seem to provide any evidence that it actually happened.

Need some help her, details are fuzzy. Mahtook’s hit off of the guy that was blowing fastballs past everyone. Why that dude threw a breaking ball in that spot was very confusing to me.

DJ’s hit may have been bigger, but MM’s hit was clutch.

Definitely Blair Barbier’s home run against Stanford. Tigers were dead in the water and he gave a speech between innings trying to rally the team and to go out and back up your own words was awesome!
