I agree with this. Skip dominated college baseball and gave us something to be proud of athletically in the dark days of football. He's also super classy and a great ambassador for LSU.

I'd also put Les above the midget. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know and I don't care.

I won't place Skip atop the list because he coached a marginal, secondary sport that most opposing schools didn't allocate significant resources to during his tenure.

Now there's some logic.

1. Bertman
2. Saban
3. Miles

1. Miles
2. Saban
3. Bertman

Saban's premature departure for ego and greed disqualifies him from the #1 position. IMO.

I must disagree. This may have been true during his early years but toward the end of his tenure a lot of schools saw they could make money at it and began to try mightily to compete with us. And Skip still regularly handed them their asses.

Anyone that doesn't have Pat Henry #1 and Skip Bertman #2 is a fool

Put whoever you want at 3, but that's the top 2

Coach Larry Sciacchetano turned LSU into a national wrestling power back in the mid-70's. That's unheard of. Wrestling wasn't even an SEC sport. Used to go to all the matches in the Assembly Center. That's possibly the best pure coaching job ever at LSU. I'm sure most on here have never even heard of him.

1. Skip Bertman is the best coach to ever coach at LSU. he is a better college baseball coach than Saban is a college football coach. Winning CWS> being gifted a BCS shot cause you looked good.

2. Pat Henry: 12 womens indoor and outdoor track championships to go with 5 mens. He literally won the Womens Outdoor track championship for a decade straight. How did we let him go?

3. Les Miles at LSU is better than NIck saban was here, and Better than he could have been here. I think going to and coming back form the NFL and ending up at Alabama made Saban a better recruiter nationally than he cold have been at LSU.

Remeember , Coach Larry well. he and his wife used to sit in front of me at the LSU football games. Remember him well as I said and a very nice gentleman and made LSU wrestling a powerhouse in teh day which was unheard of in the SEC at that time. Answering the OP's question:
1. Skip Bertman
2. Pat Henry
3. Miles/Saban

Guess you start with the ones who won championships. henry, saban, miles, skip, maneiri, dietzel. Im sure there are others i dont know about.

Of those, Skip had 5 NCs and made a bunch of other CWS appearances.

henry won a lot, from what i hear. I dont follow track.

I guess Miles would be the other.

Sorry, Dale Brown won shite with Shaq and Chris Jackson. No way is he top 3.

I don't follow many of the collegiate sports, but from the ones I have:

1) Skip Bertman (Legendary coach in his sport. Basically the gold standard that everyone looks to be.)

2) Les Miles (Took what Saban started and improved it. It's one thing to maintain, but to make it better is an accomplishment. Has lead LSU to become one of the dominant programs in the nation while playing in the toughest conference in the nation.)

3) Nick Saban (Took the LSU program from good to elite status, but we were still the little brothers of the SEC on the rise when he left.)

I there's some argument between people about Saban/Miles.

Numbers:

Miles - 7 years, 76-18, 5-2 in bowls, 5 of 7 years with 11 or more wins. 3 SECCG, 2 SEC titles, 2 NCG, 1 NC

Saban - 5 years, 48-16, 3-2 in bowls, 2 of 5 season with 10 or more wins, 2 SECCG, 2 SEC titles, 1 NCG, 1 NC

The other thing to remember is Miles is doing this at LSU during the SEC golden era, playing against Tebow and his run with Meyer at Florida, Auburn and Cam Newton, and now Saban and Bama. He has won an avg. of 11 games per year during the run which saw the SEC win 6 national titles, and has seen 3 heisman winners. That's impressive anyway you try to spin it.
