This is no excuse but a safety darted right in front of him and missed the ball and i suspect that distracted him enough to take his eye off the ball or loose his concentration.

He is a great receiver and this is part of his maturity into big time college football. He will be one the best we have ever had here before he is done.

it's like that slow hopper to short stop... too long to think about it... I'm sure though, nobody felt as bad as he did, his reaction was obviously, "Holy shite! How did I drop that?!"

he certainly should have caught it, but that throw was not like a slow hopper to short. It was clear that RR wasn't ready for how hot it was coming in, hence the poor technique.

The Brandon lafell drop is the worst from an LSU WR.

which one, he had too many to count? The worst I remember was the one he bobbled, then batted up in the air for a pick

Of course, he turned out to be a pretty damn good receiver when it was said and done. Glad of it, he took plenty of shite for a while

Auburn 2007. And he didnt really bat it up in the air, he kinda caught it and scooped it up in the air

The drop and the subsequent missed chip shot FG(bad snap,I think by the way) and they got new life. Just terrible by a guy who we think has AA talent.

Randle has taken a huge step forward from last year. He's having a breakout year, as hoped. This is the last piece of the puzzle for him (He had a drop at Miss State as well on a big play.)

Overall, his play has been tremendous. Even though the drops were big, his positive play totally outweighs his drops. Even if he continued to drop a couple of passes a game, he would be one of the most important pieces of the offense. That's how good he is playing.

Randle knows he should have made those plays. And, clearly he is capable. I don't think we will be dwelling on these types of plays the entire year.

I am pissed. I wanted to shoot him, but it all comes down to "we are all human". Receivers do not have a 100 % catch rate, QBs do not have a 100% completion rate.

No doubt, he must catch those, but "it happens".
Let's just say thanks that it happened where it did not cost us the game

I think he lost concentration and allowed the ball to hit the body and out it goes.

I can excuse some drops. The receivers are still getting used to passes in their hands.

It's good it worked out that way. We are not where we need to be and it keeps this team from getting over confident.

I like where we are!

he's also made some great catches.

look, lee's never gonna be the perfect accuracy guy. so when he does throw one perfect, it's gonna catch a wr by suprise. i know it's not an excuse for a major college athlete, but it's harder than you think.

RR has done all we can ask for and more.

We have been saying this for the last few years. It just ain't happen. I don't know what it is what the cat, maybe he is a slacker and takes plays off. Maybe we just don't get him the ball enough. Really not sure what the problem is. I do know that if JL would have thrown any kind of block on that end around, he would have had a lot of running room.

That was bad, but he'll keep making big plays

I also LOVE how JLee smiled and walked over to him and gave him a pat to tell him, no big, we'll get 'em next time

Exactly! JL isn't telling him it's OK to drop passes. He's just saying keep your head up, you're still our boy and we're going to keep coming back to you.

Randle can run the routes. Brings the size for the redzone. Has speed to get deep. OBJ has the hands...best hands since Josh Reed.

plus a bazillion

That might have been the most pissed I've been watching a game in a long time, even though LSU was winning 27-7.
