Did anyone see him on the Lockup special about Hunt Correctional? Interesting. Any memories of him playing?

Dardar, Leonard Marshall and Bill Elko comprised a fantastic defensive line. That 82-83 defense was just terrific.

He might have been at one time but as a mental health professional that has interviewed him a few times, he's far from that today. He struggles with his charge daily.

He was a fantastic player for LSU.
His life went downhill after that.

Saw him play in the orange bowl against Nebraska in early 80's. Announcer kept saying how great a player the all american center for Nebraska was. But every time they panned in Dardar was knocking him on his azz. Dardar was beat'n his azz the entire game and the announcers finally shut up about it. That was a hell of a Nebraska team and LSU almost won.

He's been locked up going on 30 yrs? Wow. Think it was armed rob. Damn shame.

I know Ramsey from high school days, yes he was an outstanding Tiger, and made very poor choices in life and is paying the price. However, Ramsey has a come a long way and is indeed a reformed person and I know this 1st hand... Sorry to see that most LSU fans think they have a perfect life and are sinless....... Most of us have done things, but were not caught... Maybe not as bad, but yet wrong...

Not sure, but I was impressed with what he had to say on the show. They showed him playing on the prison football team. He was pretty honest about his past and what happened.

The only one that's been saying bad shite about him is Speedy and he's a cop so that's so surprise. In my line of work Cops are the biggest assholes I have to deal with and I interview prisoners on a daily basis.

They had a chapter or two on him in that book "It Never Rains in Tiger Stadium". Apparently committed a lot of burglaries.

Whether to feed his crack habit or to support a family or both I don't know. But yeah, it apparently wasn't a one time type of thing.

Seems like a lot of players from that era have issues. Then again, if you choose any era for any major team you might find the same thing.

That defense was probably my favorite (helped that I was in school during those years). Add in Tim Joiner and Rydell Melancon at OLB, Shawn Burks and Al Richardson at ILB, Jeffrey Dale and Liffort Hobley at Safety, and James Britt and Eugene Daniel at Corner, and you had one dominating Defense. That defense drove the Bear to retire ... here's to this year's defense creating the same havoc in Tuscaloosa!

I admire people like you who are willing to listen to those who have thrown most of their lives away, and beleive me, I agree that many need to be locked up and out of society, but after being put away, we can still attempt to change their hearts and minds...

i had a memory-lane moment remembering those guys. Richardson was a beast...don't know if he still does, but he held the single-game tackle record at one time;Britt, Dale, Hobley, & Daniel...
