Parking in the underground lot at Union station is $8.00 ALL DAY.

If you’re nervous about that, you can also look for parking in safer areas, some of which is free. Depends what area you’re staying in.

True, but along that route the "safer areas" where you have street parking, would probably be Pasadena. Otherwise, the garage at Union Station is perfectly safe. I've parked there numerous times for out of town trips as well as for the Metrorail and Metrolink.

Wanted to add this. You can search for public transit through all the different agencies here.

There’s this really neat app called Uber that works great

In all seriousness, do NOT have this as your first option unless you are willing to have a very long wait, a cancellation and 4-8x Surge pricing that you learn about after the fact and can’t appeal.

I’m staying in Ontario and renting a car.

Easiest airport in and out in So Cal ( along with Burbank maybe). Not far out and cheaper accommodations.

Walking would be the healthy choice, but a lot of alcohol will have been consumed earlier in the day. I have taken the shuttle from the Parsons parking lot in Pasadena to the Rose Bowl for 3 USC-UCLA games i attended 20 to 25 years ago. That was an easy and cheap way to get to the game from Pasadena.

I think this is the link for it.

Why stay in DTLA? The current conditions are horrible. If taking Metro is an option, why not stay in Arcadia. You can board Gold Line at First Avenue/Arcadia Station. There are many nice hotels, such as Resident Inn, Embassy Suites, Hilton Garden, Springhill Suits, Hampton, and several others around just 3-5 minutes walk.

Stay in Pasadena….old town is a lot of fun. Wouldn’t stay in downtown LA - is especially dead on the weekends

So it sounds the best options are either
A. fly into ontario and stay in pasadena, then rent a car or UBER to the rose bowl
B. OR fly into LAX stay in LA and take this shuttle to the rose bowl.

For those who live there, would you say it is safe for 2 females to get on this shuttle or the train?

Chicken, let me know if you need help setting up the tailgate
