The Advocate’s Rabalais

1.Is LSU baseball on the decline? The numbers 79-53 over two seasons paint a disturbing picture.

2.What about the pitching injuries? One is an anomaly, two is a coincidence, and three is a trend.

3.Is Paul Mainieri in the hot seat? Not at all, but if LSU doesn’t make it in 2020, the pressure will be intense in 2021.

4. So how good will LSU be in 2020? If healthy, and that is a giant if, the pitching staff should be tremendous but LSU still has big holes to fill, not necessarily crippling ones.

Apologize for not posting the link earlier, I was preoccupied, here it is below, probably one of Rabalais' best. He compares LSU baseball to Alabama football and Kentucky basketball.

Yea count me in on the “he’s gotten complacent and needs to retire” crowd.

The complete lack of thought, consideration, and mental energy that he put into this past weekend makes me sick.

I appreciate what he’s done in stabilizing the program after Laval, but it’s time for Paul to step down. Unfortunately, he won’t do so until after next season.

At least there is hope on the horizon.

2021? You have to be kidding. That suggests he can suck again in 2020 and still get 2021. At that point one would have to conclude that LSU no longer cares about baseball. Just like it doesn't care about women's basketball and until recently didn't care about men's basketball either.

Rabalais with some real journalism?

Thought he was the one who worshipped Schmo Alleva.

No, next year is it. He won’t be here in 2021

I'd be satisfied if PM could at least stop surrounding himself with yes-men former players and bring in actual expert up-and-comers.

If by suck you mean playing a SR in Alex Box next season, yeah he would most likely be fine until 2021.

Name me a hitting coach he should hire that would be willing to come as a volunteer.

I think you need to face reality. LSU didn't suck this year. Losing in a Super Regional doesn't move the needle.

You baws are hysterical. When Rabalais writes something that all the Tee-ball legends agree with he is Pulitzer material, when he doesn't he is a paid shill of LSU.

Why does he have to find a volunteer coach?

Who do you believe he should fire to free up a paid coaching spot?

The yes-men part cant be understated. I dont care if they’re former players. There is no one to debate other views with CPM. It’s a one man show with people he delegates tasks.

Surprised he found time between gargling Alleva and F King's balls while bashing Wade to write this. Even if I agree with some of his points, he can frick off.

Not really.

And we had one pitcher that was available opening weekend that wasn't available in the super regional.
