It was so loud I could barely read my signals - my eyes were vibrating

It was like the Colosseum in Rome and we were the Christians

video made my morning with down on the Bayou playing

great series of quotes from visitors to Saturday night in Death Valley

Unfortunately all those quotes are about the old Tiger Stadium. Back before the gate nazi’s, fans stayed, the band played what they wanted, piped in music, a live Tiger, etc.

Can it return to that, probably not in these days, but it still gets loud and it’s a fun place to be. Saturday should be pretty loud and exciting.

bullshite, tiger stadium may not be that for every game anymore but for games like this Saturday, the beast awakens.

Dude, do you realize how many more people are loaded now? Jacked, crazed and ready to explode? That stadium would blow its top off on games like this Saturday.

This is just false. There have been some absolutely electric games in the recent past.

Alabama 2016 and 2018 were close, but for those of us who go back to the 70’s, (let alone the 60s) those two games don’t scratch the top 15-20 in terms of Tiger Stadium atmosphere. Sad to say it, but it’s true. I can think of several day games and losses that had better atmosphere than any game the last 4 years. Time for students and fans to bring and make that old girl roar like she used to.

First reply has to be some miserable douche with a "muh good old days" bullshite post.

Death valley will be rocking like crazy Saturday night. No doubt about it.

The 97 game against Florida was pretty electric. I was there in 79 also, still #1.

Saturday will be the loudest game any of the Florida Gators players have ever played in and will ever play in.

It is going to be electric and I’ll be damned if it doesn’t stay that way. 2012 Bama, 2007 Florida, 2016 Auburn, and a whole litany of games in the recent past were incredibly loud.

That's horse shite. When Jennings rolled out right and hit a TD pass against Ole Miss in 2014 I could feel the stadium shaking.

Loudest TD chant I've ever heard. The place was nuts.

Came here to say this.

But even that game cannot compare to Bama 2012 and Florida 2007.

Selling beer in TS doesn't mean there are more drunks in TS now than in the 80's. Tons of people brought in plenty of alcohol back then to stay drunk and the student section was drunk as hell back then.

I hate being one of those “back in my day” types but the last time I was at a game I was shocked at how quiet it was. This was the game against A&M in 2015. It was a weird time so maybe that wasn’t a great example.

Honestly, in the old days you couldn’t hear the person next to you. You’d be hoarse for a few days after each game. Hell I remember some professors being that way too. And when I was in the band, down on the field before pregame, you’re whole body would shake.

The one where everyone was positive Les was going to be fired so the energy supporting the program was at basically an all time low during the last 20 years?

True but the crowd was also enthusiastic enough that it saved miles job (temporarily). I don’t know.
