Coach O is a football coach and deserves to be criticized when it comes to football, but he's not an academic advisor! Period! Emery has no one to blame except himself!

Go talk to the other millions of college students across the country that get no academic advice and take all the right classes and graduate just fine! I received my bachelors and masters degree without someone holding my hand. It's called being an adult.

Just because Emery is a football player doesn't mean the athletics department has to wipe his arse, tuck him in at night and make sure he takes the right classes. Quit pampering these guys and let them grow up like a normal college student!

That's fine- Can I still blame 0 for hiring Pelini without an interview?

I know exactly how it works! Emery is a normal college student when it comes to academics, period!

Yeah, that's not how it works usually. Typically, at least at LSU, they won't let you sign up for classes until you get signed off on by your academic advisor.

Who cares? He had 1 good run against Bama. Other than that, what exactly has he done!

Agree. Not Head Coach's job to micromanage players' grades.

If the scheduling excuse is true, then you're 100% correct.

I'm dating myself, but I used mostly REGGIE and the PAWS to schedule my courses. You get a degree audit and course catalog and figure it out.

I hate to see the guy not get on the field, but blaming others for something you have control over is childish.

Spoiler alert, there's no way in hell that's true. And even if t was, that mean's O's program is a dysfunctional mess form top to bottom.

Is that for athletes, because it certainly wasn't that way for regular students?

I don't see many people blaming O for this one. It's clearly Emery and the Cox Center for Student Athletes that share 100% of the blame no matter how you slice it. That's only if it's the "wrong class" rumor. If he got caught cheating, like some posters are claiming, it's 100% on himself.

He's not just paid to be a football coach he is paid to run the program. That includes managing player eligibility.

Spoiler alert, you're right. It's a dumpster fire.

Dude caught lightning in a bottle and then reminded us who he was - an oaf.

I never understood promoting the DL coach over the DC, knowing the DC would eventually take a HC role. They should have promoted Aranda, elevated O to DC and found a DL coach.

It is absurd how "they" blame Coach O for everything.'

The "let's blame the coach" mantra gets so f'in tiresome.

What's with this determination to avoid making people take ownership of their shite?

Is it a millennial thing?

John should have known what courses he needed, and if an advisor told him different then the onus was on him to speak up.

Are you honestly tying to say that an LSU player should take personal responsibility for himself? You must not be familiar with this program.
