LSU's season seems to hinge on QB play. Ok, but Bama has won NC with 2 QB's who were 1 year starters (Sims & Coker). How do they win with QB's who have no experience but LSU struggles?

Because your premise is wrong. LSU's season does not hinge on QB play. And the reason Bama wins championships with the equivalent of 2012 Mett at QB is because they dominate both lines of scrimmage, they're experienced and talented at every position, and they are well coached and prepared for every likely contingency. In 2016 LSU will have all but the last of these. I expect a good season.

Those QBs were 5th year seniors so there is that.

Yes, but neither had taken a meaningful snap at QB.

And both weren't "in the system" for 5 years. Sims had a brand new OC the only year he started, and Coker transferred in.

McCarron was a RS sophomore first year starter who won the NC. McElroy was another first year starter national champ.

6 of the last 7 national champs have had first year starting QBs.

Experience is one thing. Execution, play calling, confidence, and OL quality is another. That's where they beat us.

They have a QB friendly offense. We make it difficult on the QB.

Practice. What has Les spent the majority for reps on in his practice sessions on? To execute you must spend the time to get it right. If you are not doing that in practice how will it translate to a game situation? This is what we have heard, so take it with a grain of salt. The product over the last few seasons backs up that assumption though.

There is still a difference between a 22/23 year old and a 19/20 year old

But LSU would not have the same success as Bama has had at the QB position with any first year starter.

Are you smoking that shite? People like you make it seem like Alabama has been this offensive juggernaut during the past 2 seasons when the truth is they have had their own QB & offensive struggles during their playoff run in 2014 & their National Title run last season. They were able to overcome those issues not because they had superior QB play but talent & depth on their offensive & defensive lines.

The losses to Ole Miss the last 2 seasons stick out obviously (17 points against the Rebels in 2014, 5 turnovers in 2015) but their were other games in the last two years where the Tide won in spite of their QB & their offense.

2014

Alabama 14 Arkansas 13

The difference in that game was a blocked extra kick. If not this game goes into overtime. Sims was pretty bad in this game.

LINK

Alabama 20 LSU 13

Do you need a reminder of how bad the Tide's offense was the majority of that game & how inaccurate Sims was? If not for Chavis' outstanding 2 minute defensive philosophy, Bama loses this game.

2015

Alabama 19 Tennessee 14

Once again Alabama struggles offensively yet it was their defense with big stops to prevent Tennessee from winning that game.

LINK

Alabama 34 ULM 0

The final score of this game doesn't indicate just how badly Bama struggled offensively for the majority of this game. Midway through the 3rd quarter Bama only had a 14-0 lead. Rantards blow gaskets when this happens with LSU.

LINK

So no, QB play hasn't been the difference between the Tigers & Tide the last few seasons. Without stellar line play especially along the defensive front, Bama isn't even in contention to win the West or even make the College Football playoff. They have rode the strength of their lines, not the strength of perceived superior QB play.

In the SEC, you are not winning big games offensively if you can't block in pass pro or consistently open holes in the ground game. Same goes defensively if you can't rush the passer or stop the run. Week in & week out, this league shows you that you can win big games if you win the battle upfront. Having good to great QB play is just an added bonus. The greatest factor in QB play in the SEC is more about making the right play in the key moment more so than putting up huge numbers. Look at Mett's performance at Georgia in 2013. It was awesome yet defensively the team’s performance was a like wire screen mesh trying to stop diarrhea. Georgia's offense was the diarrhea & that shite just went straight through the Tiger's screen mesh.
