The difference in BCS points for UA and OSU was 0.0086 What would it have been if Saban had voted OSU third rather than fourth?

It wouldn't have made much of a difference. OSU needed one computer and a dozen or so votes. That would have been 1 vote

If Calhoun would have voted Okie State 3rd instead of 5th that would have been two more.

If all the voters in both human polls had placed Oklahoma State no lower than 3rd, it would have made up .0038 of the .0086 deficit.
Resulting in
Alabama .9419
Okie St .9371
At this point, Oklahoma State would have fallen about 15 voters (placing them 2nd over Bama) short of overtaking the #2 spot in the BCS.
The Wolfe poll would have truly decided the outcome (or Sagarin, for that matter), given the scenario above.

Question about the Sarigan Poll
With OK state having the (6)th ranked Schedule and Bama having the (23) ranked schedule that means that losing to LSU was worth 17 schedule rankings or a total of
99.49-74.27= 25.22 points
97.81-80.28= 17.21 points
According to this quality of loss has to equate to between 8 and 25.22 points? What other items could be figured into this equation.
based on a history of the ratings system over many years wouldn't it be possible to create a reproduction of it. and to test it

What about crunching the numbers if LSU would have lost the SECCG? Of course, winning was much more enjoyable!

also my calculations which may be wrong say that if Sarigan came in with OK st. #2
it would have been
OK State:
.9231+.9268+.96=2.8099 average .936633
Bama
.9471+.9485+.92=2.8156 average .938533
So it still would have ended with a LSU/Bama Rematch.
