No, at the time of the "eye test" they had LOST to that team. At home.

Well they sure did make the voters seem smart in january...Like I said earlier, if LSU wins the game you wouldn't even be in here arguing about it but "they didn't deserve it" is your coping mechanism.

What is not debatable is that alabama beat the brakes off of LSU and was crowned the unanimous national champions..there isn't an alabama fan that will lose sleep because you don't find it legit, all we have to do is pop in the tape. Good day

Well, since Boise State also had the same record, and since they also beat the crap out of everybody except the team that beat them, and since strength of schedule is completely and utterly meaningless, my "eye test" says Boise State was the best team in the country. Makes just as much sense as saying Alabama.

Bama and Stanford were the only teams outside of LSU with 1 loss that didn't lose to a shite team..but I guess when you lose to kentucky the year of your last title that doesn't matter to you anyway

By my reckoning Alabama beat only three teams during the 2011 season with winning records. That's Penn State 9-4, Arkansas 10-2, and Auburn 7-5.

Bama split a series of two with LSU, though LSU never got to play in Baton Rouge and with Bama having the obvious psychological advantage in the second game.

LSU played three times against teams ranked in the top 3 in the nation and won all of them (Oregon, Alabama, Arkansas), with only one of the games in Baton Rouge.

Bama lost to LSU at home.

My opinion--that Alabama shouldn't have been in the BCS title game. Oklahoma State deserved the shot.

As you can see from the above posts, don't confuse Bama fans with the facts. They looked to be the best ("eyeball test"), and they had the "better loss". All other considerations are irrelevant to them.

Are you kidding me? Crazy to be disappointed after the team we fielded last year? You realize CFB goes in cycles and once your recruiting classes are peaked off, you expect national performances and trophies? At least, that's how it is at LSU now. If this was 2008, hell yes I'd be ok with 10 wins. We weren't expected to win it all that year. However, we didn't lose many people in the draft because our team was very young. Plus we fielded arguably the most dominant LSU team last year. Offense should be better. Weaker schedule. Why should we expect anything less than a NC this year?

Do you realize they'd be singing LSU as one of the most dominant football teams in CFB history if LSU beat Bama in the NC game? We had the toughest OOC schedule and thumped everybody on our SEC/OOC schedule. We beat Bama at their house. We made the SEC look like going through the Big East. Then we got skull fricked by the team we did that to earlier...

Obviously they will have more talent at the QB position than last year. Do you guys expect to be 13-0 and playing for the national title again?

So where is ur qb talent? how bout any talent on defense? And no 10 wins wont cut it this year.

2 immediate thoughts 1. I think LSU overachieved last season. 2. How do you know you have the best qb you've had since 2007?

What? We romped the hottest team in the country in tamu, then got after it cus we knew we were playin oregon. Our team has gotten better every year since 08. With our defense and a sr qb, pretty logical to pick lsu to win the sec, and we did. But no one saw the off the field issues that wreaked havoc on this team. Yet we still won 13 games with the worst qb play ive witnessed at LSU in a very long time.

Oh, you're referring to 2007, eh?

Let me give you a list of things our 2-loss 2007 NC team that your 2011 NC team DIDN'T DO:

1) 2007 LSU won the SEC West
2) 2007 LSU won the SEC Title
3) 2007 LSU beat 7 ranked teams during the season (you beat a whopping 3) and 5 teams out of the FINAL TOP 15

Yup, LSU's 2007 team's resume/accomplishments dwarf your 2011 Bama squad.

Oh how I love the logic of the entitled.

You keep saying this over and over, yet when you ignored our reply about being fans of CFB and that had we beat Bama in Jan, we'd still have the same complaint. Here's a simple explanation why. I would suggest that you don't read it, because it involves logic:

LSU's 2011 Schedule was not only historical, but it also SHOULD have made it very easy for BCS voters to have OSU vs LSU. Here is why:

Out of the six BCS conferences (Big 12, Big East, Pac 12, ACC, SEC and Big 10), LSU had already beaten Pac 12 AND Big East Champions during the course of the regular season. Not only that, but LSU had also beaten two other top 5 teams to eliminate them as well (Bama and Arky). I'd also like to mention only ONE of those games was at home for LSU.

So, with this in mind, this left us with these choices:

The Big 10 Champ (Wisky)
The ACC Champ (Clemson)
The Big 12 Champ (Okie LITE)
An SEC that didn't their Division (Bama)
A Pac 12 team that didn't win their Division (Stanford)

Out of these five logical choices, Wisky, and Clemson had two loses each, so they are out.

Out of the remaining top teams, you had two teams that didn't win their divisions (including one that had already lost to LSU AT HOME) vs a major conference champion whose schedule was also tougher than the other two teams that didn't win their division in what many stated during the course of the season were "weaker" conferences. Yes, several times in 2011 it was agrued the Big 12 was stronger than the SEC.

IMO, the choice was logical......

Yet it wasn't.

Why? Remove "state" from in front of Oklahoma and we have a game. Had UT or OU won the Big 12, there would have been no questions asked. Face it, OSU lost out because of who they were. Bama won because of the name on the jersey. Plain and simple.

LSU's historical schedule literally did the dirty work for the voters, but since many of them did not like the results from "The Game of the Century", they got their way. Good for them and good for Bama......but bad for CFB.
