Question about JJ's visit to ESPN?

With the recent NCAA crackdowns and investigations into improper benefits, was this trip a good idea? Who pays/paid for this type of thing and the suits JJ wore? I'm just not clear on the rules and don't recall seeing a lot of current student athletes at ESPN studios before.

It's a media appearance. Not exactly a "benefit" even though the players probably think it's pretty cool.
