Question about buying Alabama tickets

Hi all
I want to go to the Alabama game this season. Looks like the athletic department will start selling tickets to the general public in August. Does anyone have any insight on how difficult it will be getting these tickets? Also, any advice if internet or phone is the better way to go?
I just checked stubhub and the scalpers are asking $400 for nose bleed seats, no thanks.
Thanks for your help.

unless one the teams has lost a few games before we meet, it isn't gonna get any better for you.
If you aren't high on the TAF list, I can't imagine you have any other choice but to buy from someone

LSU will not be selling tickets to this game to the general public. I guarantee you!

I say this to everyone looking to buy big game tickets. Do not pay the obscene prices. If you are not trying to bring a family of four or need an odd number of tickets just show up the day of the game and you will get two for at or very close to face value. I have done this for years for all major sports and have never paid more than a few bucks more than face. A lot of first time scalpers don't list tickets online and expect the same prices on campus. When they realize they can't get even half of what they thought, they are left with tickets as kickoff approaches. When this happens they try to get whatever they can which is where you win.

Dont go!
Just imagine 100,000 people yelling ROLL TIDE over and over and over and over and over!!
Its enough to make me puke just thinking about it. Stay home and watch on TV.

You're still comfortable with scalpers in the age of bar code scanning?
Obviously you never saw my buddy's expression when he and his scalped ticket were denied entry to the Superdone to see LSU win its first national championship since 1958.
Now, on the flip side, in 2001 I bought what turned out to be bogus tix in Stark Vegas. I got in - just tearing tickets then, no scanning- and after a polite entreaty with the authorities at my seat occupied by legitimate ticket holder- was allowed to mingle in the upper deck with the other LSU folks.

Makes sense. I'm guessing you miss the pre-game festivities and parts of the 1st quarter? I'm a nerd when it comes to that stuff especially when going to a venue for the first time.

General public doesn't get tickets for that game because of the demand. I usually find them on tiger droppings beforehand. You will do much better buying them there than you will on stubhub.

buy some outside the stadium on game day.
That is the answer to any and all ticket related questions that get asked on here. If you have any common sense and or negotiating skill you will have no trouble finding and procuring tickets to any and all events you want to attend without paying the enormous mark up of stub hub

Bama's pregame is extremely cheesy. The only tradition of theirs I thought was cool was when the team walked into the stadium, which is done everywhere. There will still be people walking around selling all day if you insist on seeing these things, however, as LSU5508 stated, the closer you get to kickoff, the less you will pay.

Stubhub is supposedly scam free so you do pay more for that. I've used stub hub to buy and sell tickets and I can't complain.
For stadiums that seat close 100,000 it's always a buyers market. You're best bet if you don't want to use stub hub is to walk around and buy tickets from someone who has extras and is going to the game and isn't a scalper. You'll be pay closer to face value though but you are less likely to get scammed. Just walk around the tailgate area and ask for tickets.

Ole Miss and Alabama allotments were sold out through the season ticket holders, so Ticket Exchange or StubHub is probably your option.

You should go and buy from scalpers on game day. I've done this a lot and never bought fakes. Usually end up paying around $100. Just make sure you familiarize yourself with what the real ones look & feel like before you buy.

I should go. The Tigers are 5-0 when I go to the Bama game. Hell. Les should let me fly with the team.
