Question about athletes walking in graduation

Do they never walk in graduation ceremonies, or they only miss when there is a game or tournament going on? I guess at the end of the day it is still their preference even if they are in town.
My brother's friend has a sister on the softball team who is graduating tomorrow. The team is still at the SEC tournament in Tennessee and she will not be walking in the ceremony. I think they will be wearing patches on their uniform to indicate they're graduating or something.
Just curious.

Same as any student. Of course, if still in season, some may have schedule conflicts.

Plenty of them will walk this for graduation, you will probably see some sort of article or thread on it tomorrow. As for the athletes at events, they usually do some sort of special ceremony/recognition for them.

Tulane is doing an on field special graduation Saturday for the baseball players which is pretty neat. It's also senior day.

There is a video of the graduation ceremony for the baseball players on lsusports.net, I believe.

LSU will provide a special grad ceremony for the team that is traveling.
LSU Athletics also has a ceremony for graduating Student-Athletes ahead of the actual regular grad ceremony. They receive a sash to be worn over their gown marking them as an student-athlete
SA's with high GPA's also receive a medallion for their achievements.

Do early enrollees go back to their high schools and walk?

I'm pretty sure that she'll wear here cap and gown during the game. When the game is over, she can turn the tassel to the other side before throwing the cap in the air.

Can't you just walk later? I walked in August cause I was out the country in May.
