If we had won every game except the Bama game obviously beating Auburn as we did, lose to Bama and then Auburn beats bama how would it be decided who won the west?

It boils down to BCS ranking

which ever team in the 3 way tie is ranked highest in the BCS rankings after the final week of the regular season would win the west

What about next year when there is no BCS?

I wonder how they'll rework the tie breaker.

Use the BCS ranking to eliminate the third place team.

Then head to head for the other two.

This is assuming that the top two teams in the BCS are within 5 spots which would have been the case IMO.

I would assume we would have been in Atlanta.

Next year it will go to the winner of the LSU/Bama game; unless the home team in that matchup wins---- then it goes to the highest ranked team from 2013. At least this is what I'm hearing that Alleva negotiated with the SEC office.

It's a little more complicated than this. If the top 2 ranked teams are within 5 positions of each other, then head to head between those two will determine it.

So if the ranking order was AU, LSU, and AL, then LSU would go. AU, AL, LSU then AU would go and so forth.
