Give Grey some minutes off the bench I guess. Make him handle the ball a lot less.

Quarterman is so much better than him though, and has to be the starter if we want to make any noise this year

Better decisions, and protects possession of the ball

Oh yeah and he's tall and can throw down nasty dunks when no one expects it.

Patterson has looked great this year too. I'd like him to be first off the bench for guard if Q started

This! Patterson, for a true FRESHMAN, has looked pretty solid in all the games he has played in. He just looks calm and under control most of the time. Plus, he can hit the three when set and open.

Patterson will be a great player at LSU before his time is up.

The Other teams seem to know this, as they attack Gray when he has the ball....

I'm not sure Patterson is a PG though. although i guess for 3-5 minute stretches here and there he could play it

He's definitely an off-guard, catch and shoot sort of guy to me

Well if he's not a true PG, he seems to have good handles with the ball and makes good decisions. He beat the press they had on every time he took the inbounds pass.

Hate to keep ragging on the dude, but Gray gave up a couple easy buckets because he got flustered and tried to force passes when pressed. Something that can be learned, I hope he can turn his game back around

We've lost a few games by just a possession or two. And without sloppy turnovers that could be the difference.

Patterson looks calm and very smooth on the floor.

Patterson obviously came to the Tigers from a program that has instilled the proper mechanics and style that we need. He has maturity beyond that of a normal freshman and should be an ongoing asset.

Patterson could be the new 6th man with energy, but Gray can handle the ball well enough to handle any pressure, just needs to lean to make smart moves. And our suffering against the press wasn't on him.. just the half court mistakes he made.

ETA: Hornsby and Martin are our best weapons against a press.

I'm assuming you meant right before player of the week.

Even so, TQ has been fairly consistent this year. He has certainly gotten better, but a few players have noticeably gotten better.

I do agree that Gray will figure it out. Hopefully the light comes on sooner than later.

What have you done for me lately? It seems TQ is starting to progress (even if solely based on performance in a big road win tonight)

No shut the fuq up.... bring quarterman off bench but give him the majority minutes... you start giving quarterman the go ahead and it throws him off his rythm

Who plays the first seconds means nothing. It's who plays the most and who plays down the stretch.

In fact, LSU does a nice job of starting well enough to consistently have leads in the second half. The Tigers need to have the right players on the floor late to seal the deal.

Honestly, everyone is ignoring TQ's 3 TOs in the last couple minutes of the game. With our style of play, we're going to have turnovers. While Gray needed to be benched during the game, I don't think it should be permanent. TQ is just as up/down as Gray (lest everyone forgets his previous game where he was worse than Gray), and it's not like Jones hasn't given other guys a chance in spots.

Too good coming off the bench. With our lack of depth, we need him to be that spark. Grey can't replicate that. Plus Gray isn't half as shitty as y'all are making him out to be. He doesn't commit a ton errors but when he does they seem to be at the worst possible time.
