Gotta love the pressure stats from JD. Burrow was one of the best ever under pressure.

Daniels was told the same thing, by NFL scouts and he agreed with the assessment. Brian Kelly has said the same thing.

Just because Daniels is playing great and showing improvement, doesn't mean those things were not previously true.

Great players make leaps. Hopefully Daniels continues.

They’ll be back the moment he makes a mistake which will happen because all QB’s make mistakes.

He was fantastic against State. Wasn’t quite good enough against FSU. Needs to keep the momentum going.

What does his completion percentage on deep balls have to do with whether he throws the ball down the field or not? If anything, it shows he should be throwing down the field more.

Such a dumb talking point.

Every QB has weaknesses. The problem with this board is they take that area that needs improvement and scream about how he needs to be pulled from the game while ignoring his upside and his backups weaknesses.

Of course not. However anybody who thinks we should put Nuss in over an SEC QB who has a 74% season completion record, was 30/34 at Moo State and has an 8:1 TD/Int ratio after 3 games is a complete retard.

Being top 10 in yards per attempt pretty clearly indicates he’s pushing the ball down the field.

Such a dumb point by you. Go kick rocks.

Yeah, I don't agree with that. Mississippi State is a veteran defense under the same DC as last season. Coming into the game they had already forced 6 turnovers on the year. That's not to say they are one of the elite defenses in the US. But to say they "barely had a pulse" is silly. Daniels and the offense just made it look that way.

MSU was aggressive. They were blitzing. They were running stunts with the DL. They were playing man and forcing Daniels to beat them. He did. The OL played a good game and, for one of the few times in his LSU career, Daniels wasn't hesitant in throwing the ball when he got a favorable man-to-man matchup. That was as good as the LSU offense has EVER executed under BK/Denbrock. So to suggest it was only because MSU's defense is "bad" is wrong. Their game plan was to force Daniels to beat them with throws he generally doesn't attempt. Daniels did...every time...which made a solid defense look really bad.

There have been several times over the past year+ where some criticism of Daniels was warranted. But it's wrong to diminish his praise when he plays well.

The question going forward is was last week a one game aberration against who was willing to give Daniels favorable matchups to try to exploit? Or, was it a sign of growth to where we will see a similar QB this week?
Arkansas is unlikely to take the same approach MSU did. They will likely sit back a bit. Try to keep contain. And force Daniels to beat them with underneath throws with occasional situations where they leave favorable matchups and challenge Daniels to take advantage of them.

If Daniels gets a one-on-one matchup with Nabers does he automatically throw it even if it may be relatively well covered? Or does he hesitate and look to run? That will be something to watch.

Is there another "Jalon Daniels" with QB stats? Otherwise, the "Kansas" tacked on is pretty funny.

This is a tight race though. The J. Daniels championship race should be interesting to watch
