Who were they? I remember Tyler but I was overseas in Japan ( USAF) and didn't see alot of LSU then. Can't seem to remember the others. Perhaps Booty?

We had a better offense with Melvin Hill behind center.

It was Davey. Hal Hunter was the interim coach.

The Hal Hunter game was in 1999. K. Faulk was no longer a Tiger at that time. The game in question was the previous year @ Ark when they destroyed us to end the miserable 1998 season.

In 1995, Howard was the starter until an injury finished him for the season. Herb Tyler took over for the Ole Miss game and led LSU to a 38-9 win. He held the starting job pretty much until he left after 98. In 99, Craig Nall was named the starter to begin the season, but that didn't last. Booty took over, with Davey getting some limited action.
However, when Gerry D was canned after the Houston disaster, Rohan Davey led a 3-7 LSU team to a 35-10 blasting of Arkansas in the season finale.

That's what I remember, except Herb came in with about four games left on the season and became the starter in '95.

Nall and Davey played some in '99 too.

Kevin Faulk played QB the last game of the season at Arkansas in 1998. Herb Tyler was injured for the game.

Beat me to it! Remember when everybody wanted Smokin' Herb Tyler benched for Sparacino? Herb got hurt in the Shaun Alexander Bama beatdown, and Sparacino came and and...Well, Alexander ran for 8000 yards.

But Holyfield did beat Tyson that night.
