Same here.

Apparently it’s a touchy subject with the booms, though.

They like that tradition.

The Gold-Purple-Gold look is so nice.

I wish we’d wear it more, but I do love the tradition of wearing white

By “tradition” are you referring to the 10-15 years from the early 80’s to mid 90’s where they were forced by NCAA rule?

It’s probably not a coincidence that people that remember those seasons well (I was really young) don’t like seeing these jerseys

Purple jerseys look better with the white helmet and pants.

People think of the purple ones that were basically see thru and garbage thru the 80s and 90s and hate them
The ones the last 15 years are great

Yeah I grew up in the stadium in those years, 95 was the first time I saw them wear white at home. The NCAA wouldn’t even allow it for the centennial game against Tulane in 93 when the H goalposts were brought back.

It has more to do with the results on the field than even the NCAA requirement. Purple jerseys with gold helmets/ pants are too closely linked with the Mike Archer/ Curley Hallman reign of substandard football.

To be fair, I grew up in the 80's, so that is how I remember them. I love the purple jerseys

White jerseys and gold pants has been the tradition forever. Many years ago there was a superstition about the purple jerseys, that LSU never played well when wearing purple.

Exactly-and it used to be big news when the rare opponent forced us to wear purple on the road when they picked white.

I LOVE the traditions at LSU. Very few schools have any of these, and we are probably the only one with all of them.

White jerseys at home.

Field marked every 5 yards.

U-shaped goal posts.

Would play every home game at night if we could.

I just don't think we should screw with the uniqueness we have in Baton Rouge.

It’s our best uniform. But small minded people get hung up on silly traditions like wearing white, H goal posts, #7, #18, Neck, etc.
