Another advantage for BYU...First, they have the first game under their belts, then they get home field advantage. But, probably the most important factor is the altitude of Provo...over 4500 feet. That takes a few days to adjust, and I doubt many at LSU have ever played a game at that altitude on short notice. It will cause some fatigue.

I am not saying the game will be played in Provo, but if so, the advantage will be more than just home field...

A few extra wind sprints this week.

Our team speed vs their team speed should counter any advantage they have ten fold. Did you see BYU play yesterday?

Play it in Provo. Donate the proceeds to the people of Houston, and run a 1 - 800 contribution number on screen during all the breaks . Just do it , get it over with, make the call . It doesn't need to be a perfect solution .

Unless you have actively gone from sea level to 5000 feet for physical exertion, many may not understand it DOES play a role. It takes a few days to acclimate. Flying in on a Friday, and playing on a Saturday will have an effect....we better play a number of players. Just saying

LSU should not play in Provo. BYU does not get a home game from LSU.

Play it in TS or a neutral site.

LSU isn't in control of this and they shouldn't be. Concessions will have to be made on both parties. And after the way LSU and it's fans handled the Florida game last year we better be reasonable about every option.

ESPN would rather this in TS or the Dome if we are talking about good venues for a prime time game. Both also have higher seating capacity and more potential for $$ for the flood

I think this game will be played at BYU. I don't like it or agree with it, but that's the most likely scenario after the PR disaster (based on perception, not reality) that was UF coming to BR last year.

Also: if LSU loses, Alleva should immediately be fired. But it's a pretty small risk for him to take. I don't see LSU losing regardless of where it's played.

LSU will win handily regardless of when/where it is played.

Agree. Me and my family went Colorado this summer. 4 kids under the age of 13, first time any of us had been there. We got as high up in the Rockies we could get on atv's, something like 8,300' asl. None of us showed any affects. The air was a bit thinner, but I'm 42 and out of shape. Our athletes should be fine in Utah.

Did you run and/or play a football game? I lived in Colorado for a few years and can say 100% that altitude affects your breathing in any type of physical activity, unless you've trained in it and are accustomed to it.

ETA: not whining or giving an excuse for LSU not to play there, but to say altitude does not make a difference is absolute bullshite.

Umm I'm quite certain that playing a major college football game is just a tad bit different than playing around in the mountains with your family.

Are you kidding me? If it's moved at all it will be to BR or Superdome. Still hoping for a swift recovery for our friends in H-Town. But the latest forecast doesn't have the rain letting up until Thursday so it's time to start thinking alternatives.

The effects of altitude are real. That would no doubt have an effect.

What the frick are you talking about? It was Florida who was ducking the game. They were intending to never play the game, while LSU made every offer possible to reschedule that game early on. Then later, when they were forced to play the game making us sacrifice a home game in the process, Alleva and LSU fans were rightfully pissed. Any other spin is just revisionist history by McElwain and that POS UF AD.

I'm not saying we did anything wrong but we certainly dug our feet in to make sure we got our way. And we were critical of Florida for doing the same before the storm. All I'm saying is LSU needs to not be stubborn and consider any and all options and not just the one that best suits themselves.
