FWIW, most big bowls show the Pregame on TV. For both our national championship games as well as the Sugar Bowl vs Notre Dame, the Pregame was shown on TV.

Jeff – LSU band will be performing pre-game on the field after the Texas A&M band. Thanks for your note.

If everything is correct:

1. if Roy King did indeed confirm that LSU would not be doing it's traditional on-field Pregame like the OP indicated AND
2. Neither Oklahoma State or Ole Miss did their traditional on-field Pregame in last year's Cotton Bowl

THEN.... that means the Cotton Bowl changed their minds today and will allow LSU (and A&M) to do their traditional on-field pregames... Good for the Cotton Bowl if so.

Hey JP, I was at both of those games and we had a portable TV, like we usually do at games, and NO pregame was shown at either of those two instances. The only thing that the networks showed were the bands playing a song while they were leaving the field.

I'm glad we are going second so we can start raising hell for LSU before A&M's band is even off the field...just like we did for North Carolina, so awesome.

The North Carolina band was horrible (which is similar to many of the west coast bands).

WTF? I said the North Carolina band was horrible. There are many bands on the West Coast that are horrible as well. Got it.

In the OP's defense, it wasn't BS at first. I'm pretty sure originally there were no plans for LSU to do pregame before the Cotton Bowl. The Cotton Bowl changed their minds yesterday as it appears.

They got some phone calls by the LSU Band mafia. Years back following a game I was listening to the postgame radio show and there were some negative comments about Tiger Band. The following week they said "The Band was solid" because of the calls they got from the negative comments.

WOW........

I am stunned! However, I should not be surprised at the power of folks like you to change things.

By the way, the cotton bowl folks have sent me a new timing sheet for pre-game. It is identical to the proposed timing sheet I sent to them over a week ago (both bands performing pre-game).

Thanks again. You are the greatest!!

Roy M. King
Associate Director of Bands

Thread was never BS

Thanks to everyone that called and emailed
the Cotton Bowl office!!!

The LSU Band mafia knows where you live, so watch yourself. Don't be surprised if you wake up with a sabertoothed squirrels head in your bed.
