They would have time for the lights to come back on during the national anthem and some pregame stuff

Except that the team is still in the lockerroom during the national anthem, and they normally run out about 2-3 minutes until kickoff.

I say we do it, pump in Enter Sandman..purple lights. Get rid of four corner salute, get rid of all that shite.

Oohhhhhh, I got it, black lights, and white skeletons imprinted on the jersey. That would be spooky.

Replace the stadium lights with LEDs and you can alter the wavelength to whatever color you want.

Sounds good. Install strobe lights that face only the visitors sections too.

The lights have to warm up dude. Can't just turn them off and on like lights at home.

The lights in the PMAC need to warm up too, but they figured that out.

I think it's a cool idea, but the night game would have to be really late in the season for it to be dark enough to have something like this not fail.

You never actually turn off the power to the lights, you simply close an iris or shutter device in front of the light to turn it "off or on". It's done in indoor arenas all the time. Of course, this method was all before the popularity of the LED bulb.

That said, don't know that I'm in favor or against a Tiger Stadium awash in purple for the run-out.

I think it would be cool if just as the band lines up to march out, the lights go out and they say, "Ladies & Gentlemen, the Golden Band from Tigerland...." Then, lights come on the first beat of the drums in purple.

I would be in favor of this for say the last home game each year(after time change and provided it's a night game).

One of my favorite memories of BCSF this year was just the retired numbers lit up when all the lights went down. Can't comment on the requirements to turn off/on the lights.

But if this was pulled off properly, it would be absolutely stunning to hs kids(future tigers) watching from home.

I do not volunteer as tribute to go install remotely operated irises/irides on the 800 or so lights up there

Recruits would eat it up. Doesn't have to be done every game but maybe for senior night or the last game of the year.

Or have it still dark until a spotlight hits the horn section as they play the first notes.

I would like to add to this new tradition that Mike, being nocturnal and all, be let out of his cage at this time and let the visitors enter first. After the first kill, then fire up the lights, Bitch Im From Louisiana (unedited version), and then Les leads the team on the field.

Would be awesome. Only i dont know how to get mike back in his cage. Maybe the song will urge him to leave.
