Polls or RPI

Looking at the various rankings it seems U C Irvin is generally ranked somewhere between 20 and 25. In these same polls LSU is either #30, listed as others receiving votes or not ranked at all, but the RPI has LSU ahead of U C Irvin. In your opinion are the polls or the RPI ranking the best evaluation of the strength of teams. Does your opinion hold true for football also?

Simple answer: both..
But the fact is polls are subjective opinions and RPI is misleading.. but they have to 'rate' the teams somehow.. shrugs..
