Makes perfect sense to me. Gives the batters a change of pace each night.

Game 1: junk ball lefty
Game 2: flame throwing righty
Game 3: another junk ball lefty

But I'm sure the "Lange is your ace you must pitch him the first night blah blah blah, I know everything about baseball and all I do is second guess the coach on a message board" crowd will be all up in arms.

Jared still throws in the high 80's to 90 - I wouldn't call him "another junk ball lefty". What is Vallet's top speed - 82?

Poche's velocity is higher now, yes, but I think it's just as much about going lefty-righty-lefty. Alan Dunn always talks about giving batters different looks when constructing a pitching staff and this certainly fits that description.

Lange will be the Friday night guy by the time SEC play rolls around. I think Poche MIGHT pitch the first SEC Friday night but for sure by the second week, Lange is the guy.

I honestly think Poche would benefit by being the Saturday guy.

I am so pumped for the season and warm spring days at the box!

Think you are reading too much into this. Its about letting the veteran of the staff have opening night. PM has done this pretty retularly on opening night.

Maybe. But it's an interesting dynamic to go left-right-left and I have no problem with it going into SEC play if that's what they want to do and IF Poche' is pitching well.

Can you imagine trying to time Valek's junk the day after facing Lange?

But who is to say Valek stays on Sunday. I hope he can, but that spot has been a revolving door at times the last few years.

Valek is probably getting the benefit of the doubt because of his experience and a good fAll. But i hope he finds a way to keep the job.
Lange will be the friday guy when it starts to matter

Only on the Rant can you get such hard-hitting, detail-oriented analysis. Will read again so I can soak up all the knowledge, just in case I missed something the first time.

This is what the same guy posted two days ago:

I hope we tank this year. We will have no offense. Just get Manieri out of here.

Or when this board's most infamous LSU baseball basher tries to tell us how a player's name is pronounced....and he's wrong about it.

Cody Ducote is the player and his name rhymes.

It's NOT pronounced "Dew-coat" with the last 'e' silent. LINK

It's "Ko-dee Da-ko-tee." I asked Cody why his parents did that to him and he just laughed....

Not surprising. Go with what worked last season, both SPs feel comfortable in those spots.

Lange isn't pitching Friday nights unless Poche really struggles. I don't know why everyone thinks otherwise.

Either a ton of people on here didn't listen to Mainieri the past month or we have a ton of fans not caught up with baseball this season,
