As bad as John Brady was from a media standpoint his teams were always prepared to defend...even when his teams had no talent. I long for the days of the 2000 team and the 2006 team. Food for thought for you younger guys just how talented that 2000 team was....

*2000 SEC Champions
*NCAA Sweet 16
*Defeated school record 7 ranked teams: Arizona, Auburn (2), Kentucky, Vandy, Oklahoma State, and Texas.
*Ranked 10th in the final AP Poll.
*John Brady was SEC Coach of the Year!
*Stromile Swift was SEC Co Player of the Year
*Torris Bright was SEC Co Freshman of the year.

PG Torris Bright
SG Lamont Roland
SF Brian Bershara
PF Stromile Swift
Center Jabari Smith.

Went to every game that year and the PMAC was on fire. PMAC was also on fire for our final four run when Darrel Mitchell, Big Baby Davis, and company led the way. It's a depressing time to be an LSU basketball fan. Please stop the bleeding and fire the AD and Johnny Jones asap.

Seeing this program in this condition really hurts. Something needs to be done NOW.

You can thank Alleva. Johnny was mediocre in the mediocre Sunbelt. No way in hell he should have been hired by Alleva in the first place.

How many frick ups does the man get?

I remember watching the '86 Final Four team and dramatic tourney run...the subsequent tourney team and run in '87. Was a freshman at LSU for Chris Jackson and later Shaq and "dream team". Camped out to watch games. With our history of Petit and Maravich etc, this is unacceptable on any level. This is depressing.

We had like one sellout that year. Last season probably had better crowds.

basille tiger ! brady recruited in the days after Dale brown made LSU a national name brand after he ruined the name brand he couldn't recruit any more ! you cant fire a coach until you have a replacement that might be better ,right now we need to support our coach to help our recruiting other wise you are a traitor to our cause ! unfortunately Louisiana is full of traitors !

Umm, I'm pretty sure the spaces should be after the punctuation marks and not before.

Sorry that you missed 79-80-81 with Scales, Macklin, Martin, Cook and that bunch.

I used to head right over to the AC after class to get in line early. (So you could get a decent seat) Would watch the women's game early and then already had a good spot for the men. (Basketball Band in 80 and 81 so didn't have to worry about getting a good seat)

The Student Section back then completely filled up the entire sidelines, (Opposite where the teams were seated) from the bottom of the lower court level all the way up to the very top row of the Assembly Center.

LSU Basketball was a happening Man. Hard to comprehend if you weren't there.

Comparing it to the current embarrassing "Alleva Created" basketball apocalypse is very maddening and . Embarrassing and unacceptable situation.....................

JJ was an emotional hire...just like Coach O. Hopefully, football will turn out better, but Jones needs to man up and pack his bag

LSU has to make a multi-million dollar commitment to LSU men's basketball. But Dale was a force of nature. He actually got the people to force the administration to devote resources to basketball. He was a good salesmen and for the most part a good coach in recruiting. His game day coaching left something to be desired at times, but he excelled in recruiting, motivation, and selling the program.
