Do you not think Chad Jones and Brad Wing were good players here?

I like the poster's idea of letting Magee and Hilliard beat em up for three quarters and then inserting a jacked-up LF in the fourth and let him run fricking crazy.

this article was written literally two hours ago. It was meant for you.

He'll play and dominate from day one. Depends on just how many carries Miles gives him. Remember, Hill beat out 5 people with a year's layoff from football. He got 142 carries behind a patchwork oline with three young players. I'd say Fournette sees around 150-160.
You can't baby talent. We thought we could in 2012 then we realized we couldn't run for shite. Play your best players, if they prove to be your best players.

He's gonna be great, but he's going to be 3rd in line this year. It's the deepest position on the team

No he won't.

Very true.

It took 6 games for this to happen.

Maybe. just because of lack of depth.

LF7 IS the best back LSU has, But Miles doesn't work that way.

Dear LF... Whatever you do, don't fumble the damned football! ...EVER!

Completely disagree. I think we are slim at best at RB. None of the current backs have done "LSU well" except for maybe Hilliard early in his career.

Other than LF, who do we have that would even get a snap or two at UGA or Bama?

LF will be very good. The only thing that scares me about him is that he matured very early for his age just as Anthony Johnson did in the sense that he is closer than reaching his ceiling and more "tapped out" than the rest of his competition. That being said, he is more talented than AJ was at the same age and will at the very worst be a very good running back.

Let's all slow our roll on incoming LSU freshman running back Leonard Fournette
I will not. My roll will continue at a delusional and unhealthy rate of speed for the next 56 days. I'm predicting a LF coming out party at the expense of Wisconsin's dignity in Houston followed by a Lattimore/Peterson/Clarette/Walker type of freshman season. Copious amounts of suspect up in here.

Magee averaged 7.3 Yards per carry last year, and had 8 TDs.
Kenny Hilliard has 21 career TDs and a 5.2 YPC on his career.
Those 2 paired with LF is going to make 1 hell of a 3 some. The other guys being SRs will get the call first, but all 3 should get plenty of carries.

It took six games because he was behind five people, the first two had great starts against weak competition, and again, he hadn't played football, or practiced for over a year.

Miles didn't take an RB in 2013, risking having our depth look like complete shite. Miles doesn't work that way with RBs, you're right, but any other position outside of that, QB, and trenches, is fair game.
People can say what they want, but this guy will see at least 10 carries against Wisconsin. He'll then learn pass blocking during the cupcakes while we learn our passing game. IMO, he might not start til 6 or 7 games in, but he will dominate on the carries he does get before then.

It doesn't work the same way with skill positions. In the trenches, guys develop technique, muscle, speed, and strength. A guy who is physically gifted in high school still has to work to maintain that edge. I watched some replays of the 2011 season, and Freak was almost always in the backfield when he got plays. I think he just didn't put in the effort to maintain his elite play.
