You'd be hard pressed to find a better recruiter than O for the LSU future. There are a lot of ups to O. Let things play out before you crucify the possibility of O.

Love Booger

he is wrong about this as about 60% of the posters on this site

O is the man for the job at Lsu and he will do it the old fashion way - He will earn it !!!

If he's highest paid oc he's making what a mid Major HC is making so he's waiting on a p5 job that would have to pay very well and if he's had no HC'n experience he may be waiting for a few years. But if it means a title in the next two years. It's worth it. Plenty of top OC's. Kirby at Uga may slow down the coordinator hires to blue bloods for a bit. Schools want guys who are proven HC's

I don't know anyone can say Boog is bad at his job, but on the same network watch & listen to Tebow hi pitch, nerdy voice, McElroy's brazen Bama boosterism & Finebaum's shameless self-promotion, Boog is definitely one of the brighter spots on that network & more importantly IMPARTIAL.

I think Booger speaks the truth as best as he can at all times. I do think playing the odds he is correct that Coach O will not be the head coach next year. However, I disagree that if he runs the table impressively that he won't get the job. I believe if he does that he will get the job and that is the only way he gets the job.

All of the announcers on SEC networks are homers at times, but at times they are the ones most critical of their former schools. I'm sure this is by design and not a coincidence

2 things....I don't think what he said about Coach O was "anti LSU", but I do think he was wrong about it.

I think that the administration will give O a shot if he wins out, or makes an impressive run with the rest of our schedule. I know most of us fans would like to think they are trying to get a home-run hire, but its my firm opinion that a home-run type hire isn't coming to LSU.

ForeLSU...if that is cheap shot at me for my posts a decade plus ago, fine. Fact of the matter is I live in Virginia now and have been to exactly ONE West Monroe game since 2004. Oh yeah as for WM's program, they have sent LSU more players than any other high school since 1994 and is their fault that Miles ignored North Louisiana when he did?

Booger is very good at what he does, and represents LSU very well in his role as an analyst. He's honest and articulate, and he knows football and how talent, emotions, and good coaching (or a lack thereof) make the difference between winning and losing.

I personally don't agree with his adamant stance that Coach O isn't the guy for LSU - a strong finish to the end of the season coupled with some "behind the scenes" work with LSU's administration on his plans for securing a top-notch OC and replacement of a few other key position coaches who've underperformed would give everyone a sense that LSU is moving in the right direction.

I may be in the minority on this issue, but I believe we have a lot to lose if whomever LSU hires as HC isn't able to retain Coach O in some higher capacity than DL coach. Recruiting and team spirit will take a hit versus what he brings to the table.

Boring monotone voice, tries to sound knowledgeable to the point where he is condescending, usually wrong, usually has a negative take on whatever is being talked about, just not an interesting person to watch or listen to imo.

He tells the truth. However if coach O wins out it will make the choice harder and he admits to that.

Booger is a Sabanite. SO everything that happpend after Little Nicky left isn't as good. It has caused him to be critical of Leslie at times (some say keeping it real) but except for the Saban worship I think he is one of the best on the SEC Network and balances out the Bama Knob slobbering.

That's because they're human trash.

Booger was right, is right, and the coonasses who long for O for no reason other than that he's "one of us" are idiots.

Booger is not as diplomatic as Marcus when it comes to LSU issues, which can understandably rub people the wrong way, but it's not his job to be our cheerleader.

I think he and McElroy are the two most objective analysts on SEC Network.

If he beats bama and loses 1 or wins out he deserves a shot period. He would be millions cheaper so Lsu could go get the best OC in the country one that's proven and make an offer ya can't refuse.

In this hypothetical, why isn't LSU keeping Ensminger? He'll have proved just as much, if not more than Orgeron because Orgeron is a hands-off head coach that lets his coordinators and position coaches do their jobs.

Or so I've heard.

Then we can save even more millions by having a cheap head coach that no other team wants AND a cheap offensive coordinator that no other team wants! Think of all of the hot-shot can't-miss grad assistants we could hire!

This is the rant so I probably need to clarify that this is sarcasm. Our Head Coach needs to be the best coach on our staff; we should not be paying our head coach significantly less than other top teams are paying their head coaches. If a person is willing to take the LSU job for a below-market salary because no other teams would offer that person market salary, we should not hire that person.

I believe he's been nothing short of an exemplary advocate for LSU.

It's fine to disagree with what he says but his opinions are not coming from a place of anti-LSU sentiment.
