Never show weakness! Ask JL if he will be practicing with the 1st team tomorrow?

Jarvis Landry is the one guy we can not afford to lose.

There is not one player on this team that we can't afford to lose. This program will be here long after Les and his players are gone. The program is bigger than them despite what people might think. That said I hope (I am optimistic) Les will do the right thing for LSU on a player by player basis.

we can afford to lose both of them. not the best, but not a killer by any means. JLee is a Sr who finally has a great QB coach working with him on his weaknesses. JLee gonna tear it freakin up. And Odell, Boone and Wright will be more than enough for LSU to compliment Shep and Randle.

Not a problem at all. Davenport would sting some, but that is not a big issue either.

Basically, if the only damage is the loss for a few games or the season of the 4 in question and some "Breakfast Club" discipline, we are going to press right through this incident in just fine shape. Let Ware or Magee run some wildcat to offset the JJ carries, and we'll be better off than if JJ had those carries. No worries folks.

Then why would we want Lee to start if this is your perspective? Seems like, in your example, Mett would be the obvious choice.

Mett has only been here a few months!! He only has a few weeks of interaction with our coaches!! Why rush him into a situation you don't have to. He will get his reps soon enough.

The poster is assuming we lose multiple games, which is possible regardless of who is quarterback. But I would rather take my lumps with a guy that will only improve and be here for 2012 and possibly 2013 than a guy that has never shown the ability to be the starting quarterback.

OK obviously it is known I am no JJ fan!!!!

I dont think any of them are irreplaceable but I agree Landry has the biggest chance of being a star player.

As for punishments I would expect a true FR WR charged with simple assault to be held to a lower level of accountability than a SR starting qb and self acclaimed leader of the team. This assuming the charges occur.

My biggest concern with Les is the P R campaign he ran to get the public and maybe the players to believe JJ is or ever was a leader when he has never shown those attributes. I think it would have been better spent on a player who actually had leadership qualities.

because most folks aren't convinced that Lee has completely put his '08 demons behind him. Oregon will be interesting, he could have a great year...or he could have a tough time getting the light switch to come on.

Thing is Jarvis is only facing simple battery which at the most is a fine and it will likely be thrown out. At most he should sit a game or two.

Oh I didn't know it was a scenario that included losses. Of course, if JL is losing us games, I would put Mett in for the gametime and experience. But I think Lee will turns some heads in Dallas.

Yes, it seems likely J Lee would practice with the first team at the next practice. I hope Mett realizes he is probably much closer to getting meaningful reps than he thought he would be a week or so ago and gives it his very best effort.
But in answer to the original question on this thread, I still think Landry has enormous potential & would miss him by far the most of any of those four players--certainly not JJ!
