Poche threw 93
Gilbert threw 47
Would either of them be available again this regional? I hate the fact that we burned these 2 arms against Texas Southern

Easily. Maybe even 4 innings, but it won't be necessary. We've still got Lange, Walker, Hess, Bain, Peterson, and Newman.

Lange will throw a complete game today. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it.

If Walker could give us at least 5, Hess/Bush/Newman can finish them off.

We played like complete crap yesterday and still won by 8.

We do not know it. If lsu doesn't sweep this series, Maineri's decision to pitch Poche may blow up in his face.

You may be right. He might only pitch 8 innings. Either way, we win in 3.

When is the last time Bain got any innings? Assuming he was struggling last few times he pitched

Little Manuel threw 106 pitches for Texas Southern, I think he is done for the regional .... they may not have the arm depth to win it all.

Last year, Poche threw 92 on Friday and came back Tuesday with 69. He can go a couple of innings if we have to play Monday. Start on Tuesday if we get delayed a day like last year.

Gilbert will be good to go Sunday.

All the rantards can't wait for this to happen so they can start bitching about PM again.

You put the pitchers out who give you the best chance to win the game. LSU is undefeated in postseason play thus far, so I think it's safe to say Paul knows what he's doing.

It hasn't blown up on mainieri yet, but I think fans who are apprehensive about Paul's ability to lead the team in the tournament have reason to be. He has drastically underperformed in the postseason the past 5 years. 5 nations seeds and only 1 win in Omaha.

Gilbert could go on Monday. Poche could too, in a limited role, although it's been CPM modus operandi to err on the side of caution with his pitchers.

Don't remember last year?

Poche started game 1.
LSU didn't sweep.
LSU won regional.

If LSU doesn't win this regional, it won't be because they started Poche.

He's been to Omaha twice in the last 5 and could make it three times if they get there this year. He's got a national championship on his resume and is already inducted into the Hall of Fame.

I know LSU fans have ridiculously high expectations, but PM is an elite coach. He knows whats best for his team at this point - it's up to the players to execute now.

I opened this thread thinking I was going to be reading something about the softball game.
That just shows how fricked-up this board can be at times.
