I will admit. I liked it at first. Now, its monotonous. I would much rather the band so fans to do the dances and cheers. It would get people more involved in the game.

I agree. It didn't even feel like a normal game because it was constant music, a million timeouts for tv, and you never really heard fans get into the game.

What if the rant took a whole week off from touching themselves at night... I bet the piped music would go away.

Melody is a vital component of music. What they're piping in, by and large, is not music.

When I've described Tiger Stadium to people who have not been there, I've always made a big deal out of how much the fans follow the lead of the band, that the band drives the atmosphere.
Alabama and Auburn are good examples of no human atmosphere; they manufacture an atmosphere with piped in music and pompoms. I can't stand that atmosphere and don't want it here.
And, yes, I've been going to games for 40 years and just like during the USC game (know what I mean?) when Led Zeppelin was ringing from the dorm rooms in the stadium, I find that today's kids still like "my" music.

It's horrible. The person responsible for implementing it should be ashamed for doing so much damage to LSU's game atmosphere

Tiger Stadium has been declining. The atmosphere is terrible. I almost don't blame people for getting up with a lead and leaving because it's that boring.
When you entertain the crowd and you get them involved with the band and hand motions and dances between downs and timeouts it keeps them excited and interested.
I'm really confused as to how LSU hasn't noticed this and keeps slowly drowning out the band and excitement out of the stadium.

It really does suck.
Whoever is in charge of playing this crap needs to be beat with a belt and then fired.

Yes. Bring back the drum cadences too

Well it's not like the people there are loud so we have to pipe in music.

This is true, but it has nothing to do with...

How can you guys think it's the piped in music that kills the atmosphere? How bout the fact that the student section starts emptying out BEFORE halftime. How bout the fact 50% of the stadium is glued to their cell phones most of the game? If there wasn't any piped in music we'd be hearing crickets for 2/3 of the game.

I start the car and my 16 yo daughter immediately starts bellowing over wanting to hear the radio. These kids listen to these damn songs all day long and then want to hear them at the stadium. About half walk around all day with earbuds. I remember watching Mett dancing to a song as he warmed up and it was funny, but piped in music was appropriate at that moment.
College is meant to change individuals, come and be molded by the university of your choosing. The stadium experience should be unique and that's how I remember it. No where else in the world did the band play what they played in Tiger Stadium, I loved it. Someday these college kids will mature and realize they love the traditions but our culture at this time encourages rejecting traditions.
It's a throwback sentiment to love it. No one wants to change and the SJW culture supports not changing. Players should go to battle with drums playing cadence. The most memorable college chant is the ancient war cadence played by the Seminoles. Those sounds and the accompanying participation by the fans are what the game is about. Our freshmen players should be learning that when they hear certain sounds it is time to become a savage and those sounds should be unique to LSU football, not the latest hit song.

What part of the band to fan interaction didn't you understand from my post? Everything you said is correct, but it's exactly what I'm talking about.
We used to be ingauged with the game. We were a part of something. The band played and we danced. We sang, we jumped, we did the hand motions.
Now the piped in music has taken that from the crowd. There is no connection to LSU or the traditions in these songs. They mean nothing. It's the same crap these kids listen to everyday. Nothing about it says Tiger Stadium. Soooooo theyre on their phones, they're bored and leaving, etc. They heard the song 10 times prior at their tailgate.
I'm not disagreeing with you I just think it's boring so people resort to other things. Especially this generation.

If I became AD, my first act would be to get rid of piped-in music. Band only.
