This is funny...people jumping on Steele.

Anything contrary to LSU would get this reaction...it could be anybody...this has nothing to do with Phil Steele.

It's so transparent. It has to do with him picking OU vs. FSU in the Natty and not saying LSU has the best defense...end of story.

Every day there's a new..."so and so didn't pick us!!!!!!!" thread.

UFs defense wasn't anything special last yr IMO. Any defense that let jarrett lee drive on it wasn't good

But it's laughable to call FL's D the best in the country after going 6-6 and giving up 20+ in 4 of those losses.

They return a lot on D. But returning bad players still gets you a bad D. Experience getting beat is not helpful experience.

I mean Bama should have beaten the eventual national champs by like 20. They absolutely blew that game. I know they lost a couple of other toss ups that year

They still would have finished third or fourth in the West that year, and Auburn still would have played in the CCG.

Is Steele talking about the same Florida that lost Ronald Powell (their best pass rusher) for the entire 2012 season? DOUCHETARD!

And blowing a game makes them the best team? Come on, they dominated the bowl game, but lost 3 others, that's not the best team and great example of why smaller playoff fields are better.

OSU only lost to Wisky at Wisky. Wisky was pretty good in 2011

and that makes them better than Oregon, Auburn, TCU, Stanford and Wsiky how exactly? I'm not a big transitive wins guy, but OSU lost to Wisky, who lost to undefeated TCU. Bama lost to USCe who Auburn killed. sorry, Auburn and Oregon were the best teams, maybe TCU. tOSU has a better argument than Bama.

BTW: of the top 5 in the SEC West in 2010, Bama is the only one to lose to someone outside the SEC west. LSU and Auburn were better teams in 2010.

OMG Mrs Steele, lighten up. It's not like we're all saying he takes it in the arse. You don't need to stick up for youor husband by responding to EVERY post. I'm sure he's a decent husband.

wow, congrats, you figured me out. I'm 100% certain my shoe size is more than double your IQ.

But as far as his football knowledge... he sucks arse.

and why is that, because it doesn't match with the opinion of LSU fans? Why don't you and all the other football genius's post your picks? I'm sure You have correctly predicted the BCS Champ every since it started.

You must have a pathetic life if you get upset about someone not predicting your team to win.

The teams that played for the title started 11 and 22 so it sounds like he had them higher than most?

My point is he is FAR from the end all be all predictor of NC Teams. He hasn't been anymore "right" than anyone else there. He's been good at predicting conference overall standing for the most part, but this has not translated over well to picking NC teams the last few years. Just because he's been good at 1 thing doesn't mean he's perfect at another.

LSU demands respect...we went 13-0 with a below average QB...and had to beat and NFL defense twice and was unable.

LSU will be a better team this year, so not favoring LSU have lost a screw...defies logic...the team is hungry

no one said he was any kind of end all be all.

You'd have to compare his picks to others, which I'm guessing you have not and are just lashing out because he wasn't 90% or something. You are also just looking at a couple of years, we'd really need to see several years to make any kind of valid comparison. None of that means Fla State over OU is a bad pick. Its just a bad pick to LSU fans because its not LSU.

Why do people think if someone is not 100% accurate they are wrong and fools? Do you realize the guy that leads MLB in hitting gets out bewteen 65-70% of the time.

mlb obp:preseason picks
good comparison

by the way, cabrera led last season in batting avg and his on base percentage was .448. He only got out 55.2% of the time. So far this season his obp is .391 and the guy right behind him .409, so youre still off with your percentages.
You relay stats as well as steele picks the championship game.

Phil Steele is an overrated hack.

Why people fawn over him and his rag is beyond me.

why do people give a shite about predictions? thats going to make you buy or not buy a magazine?

for me its all about the stats, rosters, depth charts and historical numbers and for that Steele is by far the best. I could care less who he thinks has the best defense or is going to win the NC. its one F'ing guy.

Pretty sure he picked Alabama to win the BCS Title back in June of 2011.

He also picked Bama to win the SEC last year. How did that work out?

Everyone outside of the cespool known as Alabama knows Bama had no right being in the MNC game without winning their conference.
