I picked up the latest Phil Steele 2017 outlook for all 130 FBS teams. He had a less than sanguine forecast for LSU, finishing 8-4, 3rd in the SECW and citing a brutal schedule as an impediment.

One salient factor in LSU's impending decline is an alleged lack of an elite receiving corps, in the bottom third among all FBS teams. I know LSU has lost a # of greats in recent years, to the NFL, graduation and general attrition, but is this upcoming unit really poor enough to cost the Tigers potential victories this year?

Phil Steele probably still lists Jared Mitchell's stats as a WR as part of his argument for how the current WRs will perform.

Dude fills up his shitty magazine with useless stats and people just lap that shite up.

DJ Chark will thrive in Canada's scheme and may end up leading the SEC in touches.

After the less than stellar performance by the WR corp last year, it's understandable. To me Chark was the best performing of the trio last year overall. Dupre had the best games, but also had much lower lows.

The fact is we have zero proven guys past Chark. The fact also remains those are some REALLY talented guys. That WR class of Davis, Sullivan, Anderson is pretty sick, and now they have a year under their belts. 1 of those guys will absolutely emerge this year as a big time target. Way too much talent for it not to happen.

Reminds me of Gen. Douglas MacArthur's farewell to the cadets at West Point, and his memorable promise that his last conscious thought would be of "the core, and the core, and the core."

Except when he said it, it was spelled "corps."

Our WR corps is and will be better than last years. Book it. Dupree and dural were both soft, semi pre-madonnas. Chark Davis Dee gage dillon Sullivan. Inexperienced but a lot of talent
