What is the Phil Fulmerization effect you ask? Its when the fans place unrealistic expectations on the program only to force out the head coach a few years later. Tenn has not recovered from the Fulmerization and LSU fans unless we reverse the trends are doomed to watch the past become our future reality. LSU fans need to simmer down their expectations IMO before the entire swagger we have had for a decade now disappears into the night.

Meh. All these idiots will keep buying tix so there is no real pressure to get rid of Miles by serious people. Alleva isn't reading this board concerned by what the rantards are having a sandy vagina day about

While I kind of agree with your point, it is a lot easier in Louisiana with the athletes we have

So we should expect to get blown out in our first 2 sec games and convert 2 of 26 3rd down conversions? Wow! I didn't know that.

You tell me? The Vols haven't had a 10 win season since he was forced out but have been through 3 coaches.

What does Miles and Fulmer have in common ?

John Chavis as the Defensive coordinator.

"Chavis's career at Tennessee came to an end in the middle of the 2008 season. Following a 3-6 start and a blowout loss to Steve Spurrier and South Carolina, Phillip Fulmer announced the following Monday that he, at the University's decision, would step down as head coach. Fulmer's resignation would ultimately oust Chavis as defensive coordinator. Chavis's final three games would bring confidence but major disappointment to his final days with UT, starting with an embarrassing 13-7 loss to Wyoming which would keep UT from making a bowl for the second time in four years. a new coach would basically be 50/50 if they could turn it around

for every Malzahn, Sumlin, Freeze (maybe), you can name a Tenn, Texas, Miami, etc that new coaches didn't work out

and trust me, all of those programs thought the same thing that all these idiots think, that you can just plug anybody in and be successful, but obviously that is not true

if Texas is not immune to it, I can assure you, LSU is not immune to it

Hard to compare Tennessee to LSU when LSU is sitting on a recruiting hotbed and Tennessee's recruiting area is a hot mess.

maybe in talent... but as I posted above .. the common thread in the demise is John Chavis

Because it happened at Tenn, it will happen at LSU.

Got it.

OR...

LSU could hire an amazing coach that takes the program to another level.

What level is that? It is far more likely to hire someone and decline than it is to hire someone who can win more than Miles.

Wait.. Was Texas supposed to go undefeated this year in year 1?

Texas stayed with the same coach hoping things would get better. It didn't. Are you saying they shouldn't have fired their coach? Not sure what your argument is here.
