Perfect Scenario for LSU and Miles

Announce retirement now at end of 2016 season. Hire hot name without HC experience as OC and assistant HC ( Frost as example), and transition him to HC at end of 2016. Les goes out with the deserved dignity. We get a smooth transition in recruiting and retention of appropriate coaches (Wilson, etc). It's been done before elsewhere but not on a just one year timeline.

And most of the time it's failed miserably
LSU is going big here...you don't fire Miles after his record and not go big

Edit: oh, 2016

Not perfect for LSU. Les has already shown he needs to stick his fingers in everything.
What in the frick are you talking about? Why do you people think LSU owes him some sort of religious-esque ritual? Coaches get fired ALL.THE.TIME. His "dignity" is going to be in his buyout. All his respect was in the contract he signed.
Why does LSU owe him more? He coached FOOTBALL. For God's sake, he wasn't fricking Augustus or Julius Caesar (well-almost )

Where the Hell is all this Scott Frost love coming from today.
I literally had forgotten he even existed until some fool started posting his pic in every thread.

And very little respect for that contract he had. TWICE he held LSU hostage to renegotiate terms of a contract he had already signed so that he could get more money. LSU owes him nothing other than what the contract says.

Just using Frost as an example. No endorsement here.
His retirement price is negotiated. He still gets a buyout. The idea is based on reduction of chaos. I do still respect that Les has developed our program into a national one, not just a regional one. We don't really owe him anything but the money, but it's good for LSU to let him transition out in my opinion.

That doesn't sound good. In effect, we'd be sacrificing next yr's team, just to be nice to Les. Look, he's going to get a nice chunk of free money, and he owns a house in Destin. I can think of worse situations.
I agree, the man has been a great coach if you consider the body of his work, there is no question about that. If there is a way to do this (more of a "step-down" than a firing) I'm all for it.
But the same problems that plagued LSU's offense in 2010 still plague it today. It's time for a change. Let's do it in the nicest way possible, but bottom line, it has to happen.

So what happens if we stumble next year and the OC doesn't deliver? Then we're stuck with a HC a substantial portion of the fanbase doesn't like from the get-go. Sound familiar?
If we're going to do this, make a clean break, and make it sooner rather than later.

you are stupid, we aren't hiring a guy with no experience.

That is the most hair brained idea. What an idiot you are
