great story about the birth of GEAUX.

nytimes story says 90's
In a show of regional pride, Louisiana State fans began using the phrase “Geaux Tigers!” in the 1990s to add some local flavor to an otherwise standard cheer. The words are displayed on signs and T-shirts and painted on fans’ faces for every home game.
Grammatical issues aside, the phrase is singular to L.S.U, which trademarked it in 2005.

Just bringing the ridicule for inane things to get upset over.
Probably have heard Tigahs the same amount as Tigers over my lifetime and not a single shite was given. I wonder what the OP does about meaningful things that annoy him.

ignore it, its as old as bayou bengals, even though everyone knows bengal tigers are not from louisiana just like the proper spelling of tigahs is "tigers"

Personally, I think it is stupid. But it doesn't bother me really. People just spelling it the way they say it.
Kind of a cajun sound put into writing I guess.

It isn't Cajun, just lazy...
just like saying "youston" instead of Houston...
"youman" instead of human....
it's all about the laziness

That may be true. I just associate it with thumbs like "dat" "dem". Irt may just be uneducated and turning into a trend.
America is infatuated with sounding dumb. People don't speak proper english and it makes them sound cool. Cool = dumb in those cases

What about the TM7 or ZM8 people? Do they bother you?

I always thought it was a New Orleans thing. Someone with a heavy "Nawlins" accent will tend to drop the "r" sound at the end of a word. Thus tigers becomes tigahs.
