And look where that got us. I pray that Alleva is smarter than half our fan base.

He is and that would be retaining Coach O while getting a high prolific offensive coordinator. Look, the pieces are already in place. Coach O just needs a full year to revamp the offense, continue to recruit, and keep Aranda as the DC.

Loyalty, comfort, familiarity, fear of the unknown, happiness with mediocrity. That is what he is saying.

I am maybe okay with giving O a 3 year contract with no buyout IF Aranda stays and we can get an innovative, top-flight OC. Aranda will be gone in a couple of years anyway. I have no idea if Orgeron can be trusted to build/maintain the program. He needs a short leash if we stick with him.

If Aranda won't commit to stay, then O needs to go.

Dude people dont want to hear this they think alleva has herman and fisher already in the bag. hes just deciding on which one. I think the reality of keeping coach O is very high is all im saying. If its O then we have to make the most of it and keep the good coaches and get rid of the bad.

The main difference is, this would be O's dream job because he is from here. Les was a northerner.

Wrong. People wanted to keep les provided he would hire an offensive coordinator and open it up. Which he refused to do. Coach O will do just that. So I don't see the comparison at all except they are both strong recruiters

Agree! Also, from a financial perspective, it would be smart for LSU to give Coach O the job. We won't spend millions on some coach looking for just a pay raise when we have one right here who bleeds purple and gold, is a great recruiter, and has passion!

nah. there's no way you know this. you are just making it up. why can't you just accept that it's OK to have a different opinion than you and that maybe, just maybe they are right.

Agreed! Many forget it was Coach O who ended up firing Cam Cameron since Les didn't have the so called "Chest" to make the call, which ultimately determined his fate.

Wut? I didn't want to keep Les and if O wins out I'd give him a shot. You're trying to discredit O supporters with a BS premise.

I say give the man a chance he appears to learn from his mistakes at Ole miss.

No one is beating Alabama this year. The amount of butthurt over that loss is the same as Hillary Clinton losing the election.

We got Les to fill in for dumping Les? That doesn't seem correct.

Jimbo Fisher is more like Miles. Jimbo had one good year with an exceptional QB Miles had 2 good years without exceptional QBs. Also Jimbo Fisher was the LSU OC and LSU offense was not that good. Now tell me what people want Jimbo?

Not sure how my name got into this, but this wasn't my post. I actually support Coach O. It would be smart from a financial perspective instead of paying millions to lure another coach only because of a promotion.

Coach O bleeds purple and gold is a great recruiter and it would be hard pressed to find someone with the same passion...

This makes no sense what so ever none zero zilch. O is dominating opponents Miles struggled with even in his hay day here. Miles always under performed against lesser teams at his pinnacle. Only when he had extreme talent differentials and played perfect games did his teams dominate. Coach O lost momentum last night and then pulled away at the end, could have scored 60 if he wanted. This was with a Les Miles culture in the spring and summer that he has done this.

To me it's Tom Herman or coach O and it's not even close. Forget about Jimbo the man is stale. I wouldn't pay him the money he would want to come here. I would either give T Herman the same money he's making there or a slight raise and if not pay Ed O what he would make at any other place he would start out, basically get him cheap with little risk for the first 2 or 3 years and then put bonuses in for winning big games and championships. Would could poor the money into recruiting, assistants and what ever else he would need while building his own program. Jimbo is a flipping waste of money!
