Are you talking about the same Pelini who was vilified on the RANT for his soft defenses?

Yeah, but that could have been because of Miles's influence not to give up big play. If you have watched Nebraska play, their defense is playing Pelini defense. I sure as hell do not see soft zone defense.

Most of you Tards posting the constant doom and gloom are the same ones who hated Pelini when he was here. Pelini consistently had our D in the top 5, yet many on here hated him because he wasn't aggressive enough. Yes, LSU is trending down and Miles has to trend back up, but the doom and gloom bullshite on here is so ridiculous.

Pelini's D had some problems, particularly his last season here. That said, Bo brought intensity to LSU which the team hasn't seen since he left. Think Pelini's value was the cohesion, intensity and discipline he brought.

not even close. Pelini's last Defense won a NC. A NC that wasn't good enough for many tards on year.

With Pellini as DC, Miles was 34-6. Since Pellini left he is 17-9. The record speaks for itself.

SO you disagree that Pelinis D had some issues?
It was a good defense, it wasn't an outstanding defense his last season at LSU. But it was good enough, coupled with a high scoring offense to win the NC.

Pelini was a leader.

In 2007, LSU finished #3 in the country in Total Defense. And you claim Pelini had his problems? This is the mentality that is laughable on the rant. It's as bad as UF fans complaining this year that they've lost their dominance.

Give it up Shrubber.

Stevo's on track. Defense good enough to win a National Championship is damn good D. What defense doesn't have "issues". I'll take a championship D with "issues" any day.

Its opinion. LSU's D slid late in the year. It was an outstanding defense. You are basically just wanting to criticize now. Never did I say the D was bad. It had problems, like every defense has problems. But, if you want to make an issue....go for it!!

I have. I even watched em back when he was the DC back in 03 and they looked different than this yr's team (much more zone and ball hawking/ TOs forced), yet they were still a damn good defense. Your D won't always look the same.

No. We had great senior leadership in 2007. That is what held the team together. After the first 3 games, Pelini's defense wasn't worth 2 shits.

With the National Championship on the line, the mighty Pelini defense gave up 50 to the Casey Dick led Arkansas Razorbacks.

Glue? No.

+100000000000000

Pellini has gotten better, but he's also in the Big 12.

No prob. Shrubber.

Everyone's a little touchy after last Friday. Don't take it personal.

Collect your manhood, pull up your pants, move on and pass "GO". Don't forget to collect your $200.

Not an issue with me, zippy. Talk to the people bitching in this thread, and misinterpreting my posts.

You said it was not an outstanding defense. It finished in top 3. What part did I not understand? Do you want to retract that part of your statement?

You bitch about this? Of course it wasn't outstanding. The last half of the season, the defense had problems. It was ranked 17yh in scoring defense. Good, not outstanding.

Do you want to bitch just to bitch some more? I will be here. Go for it.

not bitching so much as I am laughing at you. You are a rantard if you believe that a defense which finishes 3rd overall in the country is just good, not outstanding. You are entitled to your joke opinion though.
