Manieri confirmed to me that he's not worthy of coaching any longer at LSU. His idiot decisions with the pitching staff last night had me believe he was waiving the white flag. Especially only down by three runs. He didn't appear to have confidence in the Tigers coming back and winning.

I'd rather start over with someone else than have him return.

Why haven't I seen the rest of the quotes from Mainieri on here? quote: “Right now my feelings are just very, very sad for our players that gave so much and so much effort this year with the goal of winning a national championship, and we’ve come a little bit short. In particular, it’s going to be really difficult to say goodbye to a group of really wonderful kids that have played their last game for LSU. He said even more positives about a few particular players. But everyone, please by all means, ignore the praise he gives to his players.

You cant post stuff like that in here!
Only negative posts in this thread damnit!

Boy, I tell ya... you got CLM who wont blast a player and he gets thrown under the bus and ridiculed for it... and you got CPM who throws kids under bus and the rant gets their panties in a wad...

IMO, whens the last baseball player to get arrested? These guys are old enough to face real talk.

Catman, CPM came no where close to what you claim he said, even paraphrasing as you did, re "Norman really did not do shite". No where close. Comments like yours remind me of what LSU fans rip bama fans for: nothing matters except winning the NC. That is bama's position & they get ripped here for that attitude. Yet ranters here are doing the same exact thing with re to LSU baseball. His peers in the conference & around the country know best exactly how good of a coaching job CPM did this year, and voted him league & national COY as a result. But re the criticism of his throwing players under the bus: you obviously do not remember just how vicious Skip could be, do you? " Pitcher getting bombed. Skip walks up, tells the pitcher " don't worry, it 's not your fault. I never should have recruited you".

At least Skip took responsibility for his mistake. Thanks for clearing that up.

One time he admitted that he got lazy after the 2009 title. Literally the only time he's ever taken responsibility for anything, and it still makes him look like shite. Based on his answer about pulling Norman, he's either woefully stupid or a flat out liar who thinks we're all stupid.

Manieri has spoken on many occassions about playing hunches, and when they work he's a genius, and when they don't he's an idiot. If you weren't so filled with hatred you'd realize that he's very pragmatic about being right or wrong.

Sad but true...Fundamental Attribution Error - basically attribute success to yourself and failure to others...actually kind of healthy

quote:
In social psychology, the fundamental attribution error, also known as the correspondence bias or attribution effect, is the tendency for people to place an undue emphasis on internal characteristics (personality) to explain someone else's behavior in a given situation rather than considering the situation's external factors. It does not explain interpretations of one's own behavior, where situational factors are more easily recognized and can thus be taken into consideration. Conversely, from the other perspective, this error is known as the actor–observer bias, in which people tend to overemphasize the role of a situation in their behaviors and underemphasize the role of their own personalities.

this can also be applied to the blamers and judges on the rant. this is a great description of the negatigahs.

His success on the baseball side equals Les Miles success on the football side.

I hope you're being sarcastic. The guys who left early were either discipline problems or else they couldn't perform. Not exactly an unbiased group.

I'm related to a moderately famous former LSU baseball player, and he says the players generally liked and respected CPM. Of course there are exceptions. He also has a lot of respect for CPM's baseball decisions, but I guess that's not a popular point of view on here right now.
