Because Thousands of people do not visit him every year while he is in his habitat.

Sounds about right. Perhaps it's time to start thinking about a new kind of travelling cage for Mike's appearances in Tiger Stadium.

In addition to the one we have now, for a live tiger...

...we have another one with a big screen TV and digital sound system to broadcast Mike virtually from within his habitat....

Yeah I know I'm gonna get flamed for this suggestion, but the facts are, this Mike isn't ever going into the cage nearly as much as we'd all like him to.

Right now, the only way fans get to see Mike is visit his cage, and that's a shame.

Are they ever going to open the tower at Mike's cage for tours? They couldn't have spent all that money building that thing just to leave it dormant.

Been real busy, traveling. And yes I have!

Targeted for completion in 2016, the new home of the LSU Foundation will consolidate its operations (which are currently located in four different buildings) and serve as a venue for honoring benefactors of the university. Strategically located directly across from the football stadium and along two major campus pedestrian promenades, the building and grounds will offer multiple options for receptions, LSU community gatherings, and tailgate parties before sporting events (the average attendance at home football games is 102,000+).

fd2s has been retained by the Foundation to develop a location strategy and design recognition components for a range of indoor and outdoor spaces and associated giving levels. Exhibits generated by the firm will help facilitate ongoing dialogue with committed and prospective donors to the university.

this is the best thread ever.

Cue the guys who want to use a cattle prod, and cue the vet explaining how he would remember that stuff.

The whole "Mike does not go to enough games" thread is a laugh a minute.

I will say under 4.

Ok Dude bro
explain how you personally will ensure Mike's attendance.

I have a theory which is shared by one other LSU fan. Stop letting the cheer leaders jump up and down on his cage when he does go to the game. I would hate that if I were in the cage.

Honestly don't see the humor. It's a great and truly unique tradition we have, and one most LSU fans enjoy.

The concern is real regarding Mike VI's reluctance to enter the traveling cage, and I don't see that changing.

I for one would not be in favor of retiring this Mike and getting a new tiger. I think LSU would get bad pub from it.

I really do think the cage with a tv feed back to the habitat is one possible solution.

That's because most of the folks on this board are borderline retarded. I would defer to Dr. Baker what's best for our tiger, not a bunch of yahoos on a message board.

Yes. You get a much better view of Mike while sitting in a stadium several hundered feet away from him enclosed in a small trailer covered with expanded steel.

Didn't Mike's trainers ask Alleva to do away with the fireworks and he didnt want? I think I remember someone saying this on here. If so, frick those fireworks. Fireworks don't intimidate opposing teams. A live Tiger roaring at them as they come out onto the field does.

I think you miss the whole point of having a tiger mascot. Auburn has no problem getting their over-sized pigeon at every home game.

I remember back when our tiger mascot was at every home game. Every last one.

Care to guess how long ago that was?
