That loss was not JJ's fault. The offense was a bit chaotic compared to Bama's, true, but in the final analysis it provided more than enough scoring opportunities to prevail easily with just an average shooting night. Blakeney's misses near the rim, especially, were a bit embarrassing.

The whole idea that true freshmen are supposed to be polished at the college level is ludicrous. I don't care what the NBA allows or what the media says.

He missed one? They didn't seem to try to get him open for shots though. Seemed like they told him to get on the wing and not move most of the night.

Hard to believe CV is a better shooter than BS

Jones is suffering right now from unrealistic expectations. Simmons is clearly not the best player in America, and Blakeney is a poor shooter. We knew neither of those things before the season.

I only follow infrequently now, mostly since 50+ fouls per game started, but Blakeney missed 4 free throws in a row while I was watching.

And I remember changing channels one time when the AL scorer went up on Victor, who stood his ground, and swung his left arm and fist out, hitting Victor, made the shot, and was given the 3 pt play.

Basketball really is a ridiculously subjective game. Impossible to really give a shite, especially when the best players are only there for a year. How anybody financially supports it is beyond my comprehension.

Not because he is a family member but because of being at the game TQ should have sat more and Josh Gray should have played more. Both had 3 assist but Josh only played like 6-7 mins. TQ is beyter all around player but just doesn't have it right now or the last few games. Back off the bench ge should go.

Inconsistency is our problem. Both TQ and Gray can have good moments then the WTF lapses occur. Unfortunately that seems to be a pattern with the team in general. The best teams do things consistently.

And no matter how many years in a row Kentucky takes 3-5 true freshmen and wins SEC championships, advances to final fours or wins national titles, you are going to damn well not believe it, right? I don't blame you. frick plainly evident reality when it doesn't fit my blind belief system. If I don't want it to be true, then by damn it won't be whether it is or not.

Why? Probably the majority of college basketball players are better shooters than Ben Simmons. He is a below average shooter, a bad one in fact. He scores a lot and even has a decent FG% not because he can shoot, but because he gets practically all of his points from inside of 6 feet from the rim or from making half of his free throws.

Well, to be fair, that seems to be the assignment for all of our players in the halfcourt offense. Stand in one place and don't move. If you get the ball, either drive to the basket, shoot a contested outside prayer or throw it to another stationary player so he can do the same. However, Blakeney did have at least a couple of put-back opportunities from point-blank range and missed them without any real interference from defenders.

Aren't most people members of a family? Why would anyone think that would be a reason to sit TQ? Also, aren't all the players usually at the game? Why would that be a reason to bench him?

I am not too sure if you have followed Ben Simmons previous to LSU but he was actually a good shooter in HS. He is coached by OUR LSU staff to attack to the rim and try to drive. If you can't make a bucket, pass it out. So before you decide to talk a bunch of trash on Bens shooting, make sure you actually know wtf you are talking about

Which big men are polished as a true freshman? Shaq sure as hell wasn't. And I don't think Ben will ever dominate like Shaq.

This has been a problem all season, especially during the SEC portion of the schedule. Every game the team experiences prolonged scoring droughts of 3-5 minutes in length (sometimes longer) because they don't have a half-court offense in place which can spring players for open looks or layups. Watching LSU run their offense is like watching playground ball; lots of two man basketball and one-on-one while the other players stand around and watch. No movement, no ball screens, nothing. Extremely frustrating to watch. The long and short of our difficulties is that we rely far too much on individual talent and don't emphasize team basketball on the offensive end.
