Yards be damned. We controlled time of possession by a wide margin. And take away a garbage td and they scored 17, a pick led to a field goal and the D scored 7. Hats off to the defense, I don’t care who it was against we played better(South Carolina is the best team we have played overall). Also no disrespect to Finley talking about the INT, but it cost us 3, dude played great and converting 8-10 on 3rd down was huge for our offense.

They played well enough to win. That’s about it

I mean they played better against a bad offense.

I saw nothing that makes me think they can hold the rest of the teams on the schedule under 40

What happens when LSU plays Alabama, ole miss, A&M and Florida. Potent offenses that will be very difficult to contain.

We have played nothing but bad offenses, especially Miss state, we gave up a net 14 if you include garbage td, net 7 if you don’t

They will need to be able to score a lot of points in any way that they can....offense, defense, special teams...

Anyone that believes this defense is anything but crap right now is either a homer or blind.

Playing well isnt giving up 406yds. That would be equal to having the 85th ranked defense out of 130 team. I guess it's better than what we are currently at with us being 113th, but we are far from good on defense. Also, S. Carolina has worse defense than Miss. St. And Missouri so the 8-10 on 3rd is better just the competition was worse.

They are still giving up big plays, among other issues.

And on those plays they aren't getting out played or out skilled.

They are making fundamental, and often very simple, mistakes.

That is the opposite of playing well.

It's easy to win the TOP when you give up TD/FG drives that last 54 seconds, 85 seconds, 81 seconds, and 2 minutes.

Well one of those was a field goal that was off the INT. They were already in range, kind of disingenuous

Another one was the garbage td, so yes it was quick, but again, not that bad on the defense as a whole.

The defense played better; however, prior to the South Carolina game, the defense was historically poor for LSU. There are signs of improvement, which is a positive moving forward, but the gap between playing well remains significant. Overall linebacker play is problematic.
