Ran into coach Mainieri in the French Quarter 2 summers ago and got a pic of him.

you don’t understand the “hard on” for the Hall of Fame coach that is the leader in all time wins among active coaches?

The coach who has been in a decline over the past 4 years, the coach with 1 SEC title since 2015, despite having multiple #1 ranked classes, the coach who hasn’t helped develop a pitcher since who knows when. He’s not a top 5 SEC baseball coach. You don’t continue to reward somebody for their previous accomplishments.

don't think this is accurate. We haven't finished 1st even once according to D1 LINK

Vanderbilt, however, has finished first 5 times from 2015 to the present and has 1 SEC title to show for it

he's not the best in the SEC but this is just silly

how is he being rewarded? By not being fired?

The OOC schedule is a joke thanks to Covid but winning those games is better than losing them.

Number 1 according to Baseball America in 2014 and 2018, and number 2 in 2020.

His hall of fame resume is undeniable. But right now, there are at least 5 coaches who are better than him.

That wasn’t my point. I’m saying you can’t continue to make excuses for the present based off of his past success. But if active wins is of major importance, then sure, let’s ride out PM for another 10 years and see where it leads.

So from 2015 to the present, once by Baseball America. So not multiple times like you said. What about Vandy? Does Corbin suck because he's "only" managed 1 SEC title with 5 #1 classes in 7 years? Of course he doesn't. So why the double standard?

no, there really aren't. The only three that have any argument are Corbin, O'Sullivan, and Van Horn. You can throw out names like Tony Vitello, but until someone like that goes to a program and wins a conference title, does something in Omaha, etc., saying someone like that is better than PM is pure conjecture. Plenty of young rising coaches never amount to anything when given an opportunity at a major program. And I dare you to say Mike Bianco

who's making excuses?

no one said that ITT

GOAT? Ever heard of Skip Bertman? All those wins but only one National Title in 15 years to show for it. Wins one and plays in another but slowly declining ever since. Sounds like a coach from LSU that coached some other sport.

I guarantee if we win the series this weekend you could hear crickets on TD. The rant will be so confused.
