Sure, we left no doubt whatsoever that we were the best in the country by January, but we lost to freaking Kentucky and Arkansas before that. And hell, I guess if there has to be one two loss winner in the modern era, it just as soon be us.

Hell, even our one loss winner had a bad shite-the-bed game against Florida.

It's certainly great to have those two to be able to add to our FOUR TOTAL now, but being completely unblemished just feels so much freaking nicer.

I swear, only LSU fans can find a way to bitch about 2 national championships the morning after winning a fourth national championship.

Amen and amen. Not competitive in any portion of that game.

Every major team had two losses that season. It happens.

I know. It was a weird year. And anyone who argues we weren't the BEST team then is WRONG.

The name of the game is to win the Natty. '07 did it. They earned it. They deserved it.

Most proven team in '07 even with 2 losses.

Nothing to feel icky about.

Flags Fly Forever

I wouldn’t put 07 over 19

But I’m not gonna run it down.

I felt fricking great about it. Still do.

You could argue we won the NC in one of the most competitive years of CFB

Absolutely.

I actually think 07 was a great and extremely balanced team, maybe more so than 03 and definitely more so than 11, especially before Dorsey got hurt against Auburn. D wasn’t quite the same after that but was still very good.

Unlike 03 we showed up every game in 07. One of the all time greats of LSU history no doubt.

The '07 championship was no different than a 3 loss team finishing number 6 last season. It's a reflection of the season as a whole and where those teams finished in relation to the other teams in the country. It is what it is and there's no reason to put an asterisk next to either season.

That was one of the most fun overall college football seasons (excluding the greatness that we just witnessed). Every game mattered to everyone. It was very exciting.

That was the best team that year so no reason to feel icky.

Pelini's D got raped against Kentucky and Arky for some reason.

Nah that season was just so crazy. Someone had to come out on top.

Also was cool to be the first school in the bcs era to win 2.

LSU lost to Kentucky because UK was determined to get revenge for their previous loss to LSU (Bluegrass Miracle). It was all that their team talked about doing for weeks, and they played like it.

LSU lost to Arkansas because Michigan and Nebraska were distracting Miles and Pellini respectively that week to lure them to become head coaches at their programs.

LSU lost to Arkansas because

normal terrible on the field discipline. hesters TD brought back because doucet lined up wrong. pellini messed up that game not spying mcfadden and not blitzing casey fricking dick on 4th down in OT with nothing to lose. he did not and casey threw a TD to tie and go to next OT. we coulda ended that game there. plus danny mccray was terrible in coverage.
