Exactly right. The 2015 offense was pitiful compared to 2014. A wasted, underperforming year by a very talented team.

Bottom line. We have a slot. Take him if he want's to come. We'll see if he's as good as the helpful buck's on here seem to believe, but he's not a slam dunk to start yet.

Not every school has a scholarship available. Most used their allotment in the recruiting cycle. He is a take and I like our chances.

You are fundamentally correct. What I would suggest though, is look at his deep throws in both of the spring games. There are about 7 where he connected and they are not merely good. they are perfect. Did any of your qbs make one throw as good? (I really don't know) He is a way, way better passer than JT Barrett. In posting on this board, I looked closer than before and saw more good things than I was aware of.
In any event, on OSU's end, we want a good amount of competition for Alabama and don't want Joe to go to Nebraska.

His 2017 highlights were pretty good, but his 2016 spring game highlights were better. His deep ball was on the money and he had good touch on the intermediate and underneath stuff. This guy would be an instant upgrade talent wise. If he learned the offense and the coaches learned him, it would be quite the get.
ETA: and he has more size than Brennan and a way better arm than the other guys........ Do it. Do it now.

You might be correct, but go compare his spring games (from 2016 & 2017) to those of our QBs. It will make you want to get him.
